Anyone using this dac? Been using a toshiba laptop as my source for the past year and courses through a superpro dac, I am planning to upgrade to the w4s dac2 and am looking for others who have experience in the settings...

I sure wish someone would chime in.... dumating na kasi and I could use some help on the tweaking side.

Wow.. Very very nice dac... Expensive as well... Locally purchase ba to sir? Sa sound dimension lang kasi ako nakakita ng ganyan eh and super expensive pa...

Congrats Sonny! Since no one chimed to your request ..... please give us your impressions on the sonic impact to your system. That would need some break-in.... and by January when we schedule the Quiapo EB, maybe we can have a listen.

definitely Joey.... 200 to 300 hours to make it smooth and tame.
so far, separation of instruments are apparent. a little rough at the moment but already better than what I used....

it has the same DAC (ESS 9018) as the Buffalo-II and Buffalo-III DAC of Twisted Pear Audio (http://www.twistedpearaudio.com/digital/buffalo.aspx).

I don't know kung meron pa pwede i-tweak on the DAC's hardware. maybe you can tweak your player's settings para mas maganda yung magiging output nito sa system ninyo

Go ako dyan Joey....

6 moons compared it with the Weiss dac202 (a dac that I want but cannot afford

). they gave it a blue moon award and rated it very close to the Weiss but did not beat it....
the weiss cost $6.7k and this one $1.5k

great to hear that! haven't tried jriver yet, hindi ko kasi alam kung paano ayusin ang settings para magamit ito with my setup

Wow! This is a very good DAC. Based on the D/A chip alone ESS9018, this looks like a winner.
