small subwoofer for small room
« on: Jan 20, 2014 at 09:43 AM »
Any recommendations for a powered subwoofer for a 2.50m x 4.00m room?
currently have a pio 821 with onkyo htib speakers and yung sub nalang kulang.
small size / footprint would be most appreciated. :)

wood flooring pala yung room (if that has any bearing sa sub).

thanks

Small footprint ba or small volume subwoofer?

If small footprint, cylinder subs ng svs.

Small volume, REL Sealed subs.

Based on actual experience of long term ownership...

REL Q201E
Tannoy MX10
B&W ASW600

All of them are 10 inch sealed which is my uber preference.

Based on home audition for 48 hours:

Sunfire SDS 8 - the highest SPL 8 inch sub that I experienced. Its so small it looks like a PC sub. Punches way above its size. Not that accurate though so it was returned.

Sunfire True subwoofer - bad ass in output from a very small cube. Very poor in coherency on audio but delivers the goods and then some in HT.

Well that sums it up as all my other subs are 12 inch and up with big volume boxes.

Pioneer Elite/Dynaudio/REL 7.1 THX
Pioneer DDJ SR2/Pioneer DM60/Mac Air M1
Sonos/NHT 2,1 sub sat

Perhaps suggestions can be narrowed down to readily available subs. It will not help the OP if the sub is not available.

As much as I like to recommend my sub, I myself am looking for another one. Needle in a hay stack.
