Maganda na rin yung kasamang interface ng  Q10 IV.

The nuisance  lang sa old Q10 is if you have different device path for multi usb your mizuu links will fail. It's a mizuu  problem and not the Q10 and what order  it discovers the usb devices(I had 3 USB devices ). I solved it by migrating to a raid on JBOD.

Also the old Q10  does  not support reconnecting a multiport  USB hub or the 4 bay 8 bay mediasonic (it will only see the 1st drive)

Mizuu in you android will let you do a multi install (smart phone, tablet, android media players) for 1 Google play account

Was able to get my hands on the Hi-Media Q10 media player through the generosity of our fellow PinoyDVD member Jojo aka "CoolTOYZ"
Thank you bro ;)

Here's my non-pro initial impressions...
More of a "screenshot" review ^-^

Build Quality is solid, comparable to the Dune media player I owned before.
The remote is an improvement compared with other media players with same price point.
Android User Interface is very fluid and smooth which I really liked.

Tested the 4K playback:
*Smooth/flawless playback
*No Lag and Shutter
*Picture quality is very good (8.5/10)
*Video file is the LG 4K demo material

Tested some Hi Def TV series...

OVERALL I'm really impressed with the performance of this media player.
Solidly built and very smooth UI.
Only downside I'm seeing right now is the inability to bitstream native ATMOS audio format.

I highly recommend this and I'm actually considering getting one for myself ;) ;D

thank you sir, what's your impression on HD audio support and sound quality for playback of FLAC and MP3 files?  In my case, I prefer just playing my media from HDD ... Although I still have CD/DVD/BD, I've let go of my DVD and BD players

I have a Demo unit available at the store.
It is intended for me to learn more how to maximize the capability of the model for personal use :) and not really to sell the model.

Please feel free to run desired tests at the store. Thank You.

Was able to test both DTS-HD 7.1 and Dolby True HD 7.1 and both were bitstreamed without problems...

Also tried playing my flacs and mp3s...
Didn't encounter any problem...
I prefer the SQ of optical connection to AVR than HDMI...

Only con Im really seeing right now is the inability to bitstream ATMOS track.

Is it true that Himedia Q plays 24p correctly but not 23.976p?

I don't think there's any Android box that supports 23.976p.

There is another Firmware upgrade to correct the 23.976p
http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=186.0

Q10 4K3D. 26-MAY-2015. FIRMWARE HMD-1.0.9 FUTEKO-EN. Changelog:

1. Pre-installed Skype, Facebook, Youtube, Netflix, Kodi.
2. Fixed Kodi and Chrome cannot update.
3. Miracast.
4. One click to enter APPs on the main UI.
5. Supports 23.976fps.

Is it true that Himedia Q plays 24p correctly but not 23.976p?

I don't think there's any Android box that supports 23.976p.

Thanks for the reply.

But I don't trust the published specs.  Better if a user sees it for himself.

Even if a player does not render 23.976p correctly, it will still play a 23.976p file --- just not correctly.  There will be one frame skipped every 41.67 secs.

Most people don't notice it anyway, so it would not be a big deal to most users.

I remember showing sir Nelson how my WDTV player cannot render true 24p correctly (it renders 23.976p correctly).  I called his attention every time one frame skipped.  But he never saw a single frame skip.

Question lang mga sir:
Aside from having an internal hdd bay in Q10, whats significant difference does a Q5 with Q10? Does Q5 had the same firmware with Q10? Are all Q5 version 4 the same? Does european version had the advantage of being "firmware upgradeble"?

The only difference I have experienced running both Q5 and Q10.
1) Q5 External HDD / Q10 Interal HDD.
- although the Q10 runs even without an internal HDD. USB HDD is playable even without Internal HDD.

2) Q10 you can operate even without a remove control because of the front keypad. Q5 you need the remote.

3) QC and Q10 have the DIFFERENT Firmware but same functionality.

I only have the European version and do not have experience with the Chinese version.

Having several NMTs at home, I can say the picture quality of the Himedia Q10/Q5 is really stunning.

Saw the Q5 being sold here in Wan Chai for HK$599 (roughly P3,650).  Is that a good price and would it be worth it?

1) Verify if it is Q5 4K3D
- Q5 Quad and Q5-I looks the same.
2) Verify if it is EURO version, not chinese version.
- Chinese version does not have firmware support.

That is an excellent price is you can get a Euro version at HK$599.00

The sticker says 4k on it and the dude said it has english on its firmware.  I didn't ask if it was a euro one. Will check again in the coming days.

You may check the firmware of the unit and compare on the futeko site for list of Euro firmware releases.
