Hi-Media Q-Series Support, Tips & Tricks

Yup. Magkaiba yung CFW for Q5 and Q10 PRO. No idea for non Pro models (Q5/Q10 only).

Very detailed yung guides on futeko. And good thing is there is always the option to roll back to the older FW if you don't like it.

I think I have asked this before pero maybe there are new guides, can I change the HDD names(sda1..) to actual HDD names seen in PC? Does the power off mean that the HDDs have been unmounted properly or do I have to unmount all HDDs individually before turning the unit off?

Yup. There's a way pero I don't know how. Because my HDDs appear with their given name na, not their connection/mounting name, now that I'm using the CFW.

would be nice nga sana for renaming the devices or at least show the DISK VOLUME label of each disk .

powering off while on play is risky, so if you are in kodi, i normally quit to the home screen before powering off.

while playing, and i want to power down i stop and go to the homescreen and power off

just to make sure the files are not left open, prior to power down. I dont get those disk checks prompt so far.

Nice bro jc! I used the 2.01 CFW update and the volume labels appear! How do you make the mx player pro the default player for kodi?

@comet, it's there din in the forums. Medyo broken English yung post but he simplified everything on his first post. I think it's the thread "Make MX Player default.. etc"

CFW 2.0.4 is out on futeko forums.

Major improvement (for my purposes) on HiMedia default player:
Correct Aspect Ratio already on HDR movies.
HD Audio Passthrough is working
Smoother playback.
Better color output on HDR compared to Kodi.

Major issue experienced:
Kodi will not passthrough HD Audio. Audio will work only via PCM and fixed output setting.

Fire up those updates and enjoy HDR content.

Ganda talaga ng Q5Pro when all the hardware is working with the OS.

HTH!

^^you need an iPad app that has support for accessing Samba shares. Because you will configure the NMT as a Network storage.

Has anyone tried to upgrade from android 5.1 to android 7 (2.04 firmware)? If yes can you help me out. It cannot access folders of my Synology NAS via media center via LAN or NFS. Getting Network share error. Need help for those who configured theirs successfully and able to access their NAS.

Kodi seems to access files in my NAS but playing the video is limited to kodi player not via wrapper so not capable of 7.1 audio.

Right now binalik ko na lang muna sa android 5.1.

Maybe try Kodi or VLC, that's what I use for 4k HDR videos on my Mibox international and it displays the correct aspect ratio. Does this only happen on 10bit HDR files? the media center seems to be stretching all videos to fill the screen.

all 10bit hdr files ganoon? what resolution did you set your Himedia? any other info you can share about the files in questions (like resolution, codecs) to better narrow down why this is happening?
