Acer H6510BD
« on: Mar 07, 2013 at 09:29 PM »
anyone know if/when this Full HD 3D projector from Acer will be locally available? and IF it will be available, where could it be bought?

its specs are promising:
- Full HD resolution
- 3000 lumens
- 3D support
- 4.85 lb weight
http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model-datasheet/MR.JFZ11.00A

oh, and it costs just $800!  ::)

the only let-down in its specs is its contrast ratio of 10k:1

where I found out about the H6510BD:

Up on this Acer H6510BD. This pj sells just below $800 at Amazon. Currently this PJ has three 5-star ratings (1 from Projector Central and 2 from Amazon). I am eyeing this cheap PJ for viewing 1080p 2D/3D BDs. Hopefully I could get some more feedback from fellow pdvder(s) who already own this item. TIA

what does 3D limited to PC sources mean http://www.projectorcentral.com/projector_news.cfm?2013-03-05-Upcoming-reviews-MarchApril&entry_id=596? so this PJ can't play Full 3D ISO coming from an NMT Player nor 3D BD? sorry for the noob question. thanks!

Sinabi mo pa! Pero ganun talaga business kapag hindi necessity ang product mo. Law of supply and demand. Kaya ata sa basic commodities lang nag-apply ang law natin.

I haven't tried Villman yet. Wala din naman akong pambili. Haha!

@Allan

This is my first pj, so take this as just an opinion of a newbie. I'm comparing this vs my 42in LED TV. Projecting to a 120inch screen. Walls are dark blue all around with little ambient light.

Out of the box impression is stunning. 1080p content is as sharp as my 42in LED tv, but, with a smoother texture (filmlike?), even with some ambient light. Before buying this, I was also looking at a 60in LED tv. I noticed in the showrooms that LED tv's on 60in  sizes are very sharp to the point of looking cartoonish (can see th jaggedness on the edge of the images). The LED TV may be calibrated to soften this image, but this pj delivers filmlike quality on a bigger scale.

Switched to ECO mode and the pq is still excellent. Turned off Brialliantcolor to lower the brightness further (lesser power consumption) and the pq became a litte dull with ambient light. On totally dark room, Brilliantcolor OFF and ECO mode ON worked great.

Had my son play XBOX games (NBA, Halo, DOA) and no game lags observed.

Built-in speaker is disappointing. Not really enough volume (2 W) to be usable.

Rainbow-effects... Observed this only on some scenes with fast moving white and blacks (e.g. The first part of the movie Equilibrium where a gunfight happened on a dark room). Not noticeable on subtitles. In  my experience, I barely notice RBE.

Very satisfied so far!

Nice review.

In my experience with such low contrast PJ mas sharp siya pag mas maliit sa 100. Dati kasi naka 110 ako na screen size on my PJ and napansin ni jammy na di siya ganun ka sharp so try ko liitan mas naging sharp siya. Ewan ko lang sa brand na ito.
