Hahanako cine grey wall pero pansin ko ang pagkakaiba kasi test ko ang cine grey wall sa white wall mas blacker ang cine grey sa tingin ko di ganun kataas ang presyo ng cine grey na screen basta same brand lie elite screen.

no bro, what i meant was the acer.

We were able to test DTNS' PJ yesterday at my house and I was surprised at the performance of this.

Sharpness

It really depends on the player.  We tried playing BD ISOs (The Hobbit, Underworld Awakening) using XBMCs internal player.  We find the picture a little bit on the soft side.  Others would want this being more theaterlike.
We tried playing some Remuxed MKVs (The Hobbit, Escape from Planet Earth, Battleship) using Splash PRO Ex and man I was blown away.  It was like having a big full HD LED TV in front of us! Picture was very sharp and for a time I forgot it was a projector.
We went to my HTPCs Desktop and the letters were sharp and very readable.  I wasn't expecting this from a DLP PJ.  From what I have observed, LCD PJs excel in this aspect. It even beat the crap out of my Epson 8350 when it comes to reading text.

Brightness

This PJ is bright even with ambient lights on.  You can watch a movie without washed out colors. I was surprised that it was only on Eco mode.  I am not saying that selecting the normal mode would be better for movie watching unless you want to watch a movie while reading a book with all the lights on.

Colors

I do not have calibration equipment but the colors were good in animation but with a reddish hue noticeable in face closeups.  These  are all on default settings and could be improved more with calibration.

Contrast

It has a contrast ratio of 10000:1.  It paled a little compared to my Epson.  Lack of black levels were noticeable in dark scenes.  I am not saying it is bad but then we had another PJ to compare it with.  If it was standalone, you wouldn't notice or care about it. Just enjoy what you see.

RBE (Rainbow Effect)

You'll see them once in awhile.  Just brush it away and not make a big fuss out of it.

For the price and its performance for full HD sources, I highly recommend this PJ.

I guess that the Acer would have better black levels than the Optoma.  Acer has a Contrast Ratio of 10000:1 compared to Optomas 4000:1.

I thought I was happy with my Epson 8350 until yesterday.  Or maybe I just wanted something different.  Although the colors and black levels of my Epson trumped over Acer's, the sharpness (LED-like) of the Acer gave the WOW factor. Colors though can be improved with calibration as I did simple calibration already with my Epson before and the Acer was at default levels.  I even tried to adjust the focus of my Epson to equal the sharpness of the Acer--wala talaga.  This was not done with a calibration disc but just a simple comparison of reading text from my HTPCs desktop.  Parang biglang lumabo ang Epson! Maybe this has something to do with the Acer's 1920x1200 resolution vs Epson's 1920x1080.

Malas lang my camera ran out of charge as I myself would be proud to post some screenshots from yesterday's test.

Rule of thumb: once you buy your gear, do not look and compare it to others.  >:D

Yes a Grey screen would help in improving black levels in PJs with low CR.

Von kamusta? Actually I really lowered my expectations with the Acer because of the brand and price.  Na Foot-in-Mouth ako.

Kaya pala willing na willing si sir DTNS dalhin ang PJ sa bahay!

Not sure.  But definitely the Acer is brighter with 3000 lumens vs Epson's 2000 lumens.
