Quick question: for a warmish, but still detailed sound, do you recommend a Polk Rti /Tsi or the Monitor 45? Need small speaker with decent bass extension for music/movie use.

Forget about the monitor 45, that have been phased out for a few years now. The Polk Audio TSi Series is great, you will be impressed with the detail and open sound of these models. Very good for both movies and music. TSi Series are also easy to drive, it can get loud with even entry level receivers.

TSi series is fine as long as you do not compare them to RTi. Once you put the RTi and TSi next to each each, you will notice that the RTi is even more detailed and sounds better.

studio monitor series have rave reviews, dalawang modelo yata kasama sa stereophile recommended speakers for 2013.  heard the studio monitor 45 in the last hifi show, all i can say is "wow", big sound for a small unit.
