Ako naman I got the Sony 75-incher from a (surprise) Lightning Deal over at Amazon where it was priced at $1300 pre-tax.

Even with shipping fees, this is cheaper than the Php130k I see in Manila. Well worth the wait while it's out at sea.. now to pray that it won't have any defect :D

anu model sir? ok yan ah, update us sa total cost with tax :D

After the screen size, what's the next most important factor in buying a 4K HDR screen?

I'm shopping for a new TV soon, and I'm fixated on getting a "wide color gamut." Am I wrong in this?
As much as possible I want it future-proofed and I'll be sticking with it for at least 6-8 years, fingers crossed that it will last that long.

Future proof means youhave to get the latest and best and biggest model if you have the budget now.

I just recently bought a 4k screen a few months ago. Prior to making my purchase I was hesitant to get a 4k screen, I was initially just looking for a really great 1080p set.

Finding a really great 1080p set today though is an exercise in futility as majority of 1080p sets today are budget models with build quality not fit for the discerning HT enthusiast. So no choice for me but to go 4k.

Made the jump and I think it was a good decision (I wish I had the budget for an OLED TV though)

With more and more devices supporting the 4k format, most recently the Xbox One X, I feel I am more equipped for what's to come in the future.

Look for set that have all the HDR support such as HDR 10, HLG and Dolby Vision...
If you are not inclined in getting an OLED which is considered the best of the best, get the TV that has Full-Array Local Dimming technology (FALD) instead like the Sony X9000 series.

And future proof sometimes mean risking on the technology used by the manufacturer. Minsan the gadget lasts long pero the technology doesn't.

Or the other way around, yun gadget nasira right after the warranty. And it’s cheaper to replace than to repair. Sa recent trend ng mga manufacturers, wala na talaga forever, kahit close to forever. Gadgets are not built to lasts na, unlike before na sobra tibay, sawa ka na eh hi di mo pa mapalitan.

Ang name of the game is buy what is within your budget and intended purpose muna, no need to spend so much on something that will be below the cahin in just a year or two.

For me besides 4k to 720p files that i watch, i also considered as a factor to consider the contents lesser than those i mentioned. For this purpose my cheap samsung 65 mu6303 is more than capable for this intention.

To be honest with you guys, I never did consider other fancy stuff on any of my TV,
For as long as it preforms well with the source that I feed it, I'm happy... I really don't give much about HDR etc etc,...
I never own a UHD player anyways, all my source still are remux files, the 75JU7100 that I have performed really well,
though it was really pricey when I bought it, and the 85JU7100 then was just clearly out of budget,
and with the performance of the 75, I never did had second thoughts on pulling the trigger on the 85 this black friday,
did not expect that it would be priced at a fraction of my 75,...

My suggestion to my friends, always get the biggest and the best your money can buy,...
 ^-^

Oh and just to add, I only have 2 requirements sa mga TV na pinipili ko,
High motion rate, which is 240, then hindi masakit sa mata ang picture and color...
Less eyestrain... That’s it...

Calm down:)

Go to Settings then General then System Manager from there go to Usage mode and select Home mode.

Btw, Samsung calls it “Retail mode”.

I have a question mga sir, just wanna ask how come when i play a 4k file using my zidoo connected to my onkyo 720 and my samsung k7000 when i press the info on the tv it is always at 1080p only but when i press the info on the file on the zidoo it is a legit 4k file. Even the full 4k blu ray file it is still 1080p on the tv info. Is there something i need to set to make it 4k output.

My hdmi is 4k capable so that is not the culprit.

Your thoughts are most welcome mga sir.

Taking a stab in the dark. the connections of your system is not Clearly described. So your Zidoo is passing the video output through the onkyo? if yes, that might be the culprit.

Zidoo ----(AUDIO and VIDEO) ---> onkyo---->KS7000

Yes sir you are right with my set up. I dont think so because i already tried to isolate the problem by connecting directly the zidoo to the ks7000 and the problem stays the same.

Plus the onkyo rz720 is capable of 4k display passthrough, hdr, dolby vision and hdcp 2.2 compliant.

is putting a pressure on the edge of the TV can eliminate/minimize backlight bleeding?this is the most common answer but i can't find any proper demo on how to perform this. found a bleed on my TV in my room.

thank you in advance.

Hello! Wala ko makitang existing topic kaya dito ko na lang ilagay. Last January 2017, nakabili ako ng Sony 43x800D for 32K sa A*enson. Last week, nagkaron ng defect yung unit. Since under warranty pa, pinacheck ko kay Sony Center. Reply sa kin, for replacement na lang daw yung unit sa pinagkunan ko. Ang problema, wala ng 43x800D na available. Ang inooffer sa kin is 43x7500D for 35K or 437007E for 30K. Both models are a downgrade from my TV and an upgrade sa price. Lugi ako. Ano pa kaya pwede gawin?
