Nice! GTX 980 or R9 290X would be great with that. :)

I hope Windows 10 fixes the current scaling issues.

I'm currently using a 7990. I think it should be enough. maybe I'll add a 280X for trifire for extra graphics horsepower.  >:D

Best in what sense? Processing, scaling and factory calibration? Sony uses LG 4K panels, afaik.

Sony does not use LG 4K panels, they use AU Optronics. Check on this link http://www.digitalversus.com/tv-television/sony-bravia-x9-kd-55x9005a-p15201/mystery-panel-maker-revealed-4k-sony-bravia-x9-kd-55x9005a-n30385.html

Sony is really the forefront of the 4K screen revolution and they have the most content available.

The 2014 SONY 4k models are quite future proof since they all have the industry standard for 4K like HDMI 2.0 and HEVC codec support of up to 4K*1/60p

"Sony opted to use LG IPS passive 3D panels in its W9 HD models, a move which appears to have backfired. These panels appear unable to rival the contrast performance of the latest Samsung panels, and it's resulted in a would-be brilliant Sony TV that's horribly undermined by some iffy black levels.
The conclusion is that they're out-performed by Sony's own cheaper and wonderous W8 series (which doesn't use LG panels)."

Well, not all 4k Tv's available here in the Philippines have the HDMI 2.0 and HEVC codec support of up to 4K*1/60p. Specially the cheaper ones from Chinese Brands.

LG and Samsung may have those but SONY still has an edge because of the content.

The Panasonic 4K tv your saying is not available here in the Philippines and Panasonic TV's in general are not that visible in the Ph market. This is a Philippines forum after-all.

People will forget about Plasma since SAMSUNG, LG and most manufacturers already decided to end producing Plasma TV's. So we cant compare it anymore. Plasma is dead.

The only thing they say that is better than 4k is OLED which is very expensive at the moment and it will not gain enough traction unless they produce cheaper OLED displays and produce enough yields of the panel.

They source from AUO when they can, but the larger panels come from LG.

Samsung, LG and Sharp make the biggest mass-produced TV panels so they would have to choose between the three on who to source from.

Sony makes good TVs, but I can't say that they are at the forefront of TV tech (at least not for flat panels). They are pioneers of 4K for projectors.

As far as i know we are talking about Sony 4K panels. This is a 4K thread. Since when did the W9 series became 4k? Only X and S series models are 4K. Don't play smart with me if your argument is wrong in the first place.   :P

i don't trust devant or any chinese / taiwanese TV brand ever since. For an 85k i might as well buy a sony(55W800B) or a samsung(55H6000) both of those are only full HD but they pump out gorgeous images.
