Can't find any review as well for this TV.  Very tempting ang price niya.  Care to explain kung bakit pangit ang 3dtv na walang trumotion?

It gives you the soap opera effect. Faster /more fluid tingnan yung animation. Normally, most people don't like the SOE on live action films but from what I've read, the SOE is actually enjoyable (for the same people who don't like it for live action films) when it is applied to 3D animations. As to why...I dunno. I guess it just looks better lang talaga with trumotion?

I checked the LA6130 na din. When I was using its 3D feature, may kulang talaga. I kept asking the salesperson if 3D ba talaga yung source or converted 2d to 3d lang kasi when I looked at the tv below it (LA6200) iba talaga, mas maganda yung nasa baba.

Yun pala, kasi nga lower-end 3D tv lang kaya ganun

I have this, got this last June 15. This was a "big" upgrade for me, having just a 20" LCD TV for the last 5 years with no HDMI input and only up to 1080i.

My main reasons for buying the 42LA6130:
1. LED for low power consumption
2. Dual play for gaming on Xbox360
3. at least 40"
4. supports 2D to 3D conversion

Hindi ko talaga kailangan ng smart TV, so I picked this model over the 42LA6200.

Regarding sa lack of tru motion feature, para sa akin di sya deal breaker.  I tried playing 1080p movies (both 2D and 3D) from 1TB hard drive on the USB port of the TV and wala pa kong na-encounter na di nya ma-play.

So kung ok lang sayo 2 lang HDMI inputs, 1 component and 2 composite inputs, 1 headphone out, 1 optical out, 1 usb port I would recommend getting the unit.  For the price, panalo na sya for a 42" 3D LED TV.

Anson's Landmark, price posted is 39K+ ... but I was able to negotiate it down to almost 33K (you'll pay less if you pay cash or straight payment via credit card).

Agree, saw this side by side with a 42in model with trumotion and the PQ is not spectacular. Better get the slightly expensive 5710 w/o 3d but has 120hz trumotion and a smart tv. Believe me the diff will be day and night when watching CG films (e.g.despicable me, toy story) which IMO "trumotion" works best.

Exactly. Lalo na sa 3D animation movies, you will see a great improvement when there is motion interpolation. Ganda. I watched Rise of the Guardians 3D and I was blown away. May trailer pa ng The Croods. Sobrang ganda din in 3D with trumotion on.

How's your TV now, sir jmj92180? Is there evident backlight bleeding when watching movies with dark scenes?

Isa 'to sa mga options ko sa ngayon eh. (3D LED TV - 40" or above) One more thing, D-LED ba 'to or Edgelit LED? Thanks!

This model's price difference from LA6200 is more than 10K! Basically, the difference between the two is the Smart TV Function and the Trumotion of LA6200. Had it been just a 5K difference, I would have gone with LA6200.  :(

Wala bang model ang LG na may 3D at Trumotion, kahit hindi Smart TV, basta hindi nalalayo sa price range ng LA6130?

Hello PinoyDVD,

I registered to this forum site because I recently saw some online ads for the LG 42LA6130 (and also the 42LA6200). I have read some threads here already and aware of the differences between the two, as well as other topics such as "backlight bleeding", etc.

Backlight Bleeding Topic: http://www.pinoydvd.com/index.php/topic,181686.150.html
3D Topic: http://www.pinoydvd.com/index.php/topic,166743.msg1951629.html#msg1951629

I was really looking for a TV with 3D but without the "Internet Hub" feature because I know that I won't be using that. Lo and behold...there are such models! My use-case scenarios would be:

1. Watching Cable TV
2. Watching movies via USB/external storage
3. Watching movies and playing games from PC and hooking that up to the TV via HDMI (and because of this, I can also use the Internet and output the display to the TV, from the PC).
4. Wants 3D Feature

I don't want to pay for things I won't use, but then comes the question of the "Soap-Opera Effect". I have read that the 6130 does not have it, but the 6200 does - at an extra PHP10,000 difference. I have read that "Motion Compensation Interpolation" (MCI) is "software-driven" in some of the threads here, so does that mean that the lack thereof can be compensated by, say, a 3rd-party app/software that I can install on my PC (I have read some posts talking about "Splash Pro")?

1. In other words, if I hook my PC (with Splash Pro installed) to the 6130 I can still get the desired effect?
2. The TV is the one that provides the 3D feature. If I run a movie via Splash Pro and enable Soap-Opera, and then enable 3D on the TV, will that give me a 3D+Soap-Opera effect when I watch?
3. I have read some posts about "backlight bleeding". Do we have some 6130 owners here who have experienced the said issue? Based on other threads, this is a common behavior observed for LEDs/LCDs though.
4. What is SnS and NMT? I have seen them mentioned frequently on other threads.

Appreciate the response! I plan to buy over the weekend so your insights will be valuable.

Hi Friends,

I went to a nearby appliance store na may LA6130 and LA6200, so I was able to request for a demo/test on both. Maganda nito ay magkatabi ang units. :)

This is my personal assessment/review:

What's missing on 6130 versus 6200:

Features:

1. Motion Interpolation (called different names by the manufacturers...LG calls it TruMotion if I'm not mistaken), also called the "Soap Opera Effect".
2. "Internet" a.k.a. "Smart TV" features.
3. Less HDMI ports. 6130 has two (2) ports...one at the side and one at the back versus three (3) or four (I forgot) sa 6200.
4. Less USB ports. 6130 has only one (1) USB port.
5. LAN/Networking. So this means that if you have a "media server" or NAS/Network Attached Storage (e.g. a hard drive attached to a router), you can't "stream" your media content to the TV. You have to copy them to a USB and then plug the USB to the TV.
6. Both have 3.5mm jacks (for headsets, PC speakers, etc.).
7. Both are being sold as promotions to include a total of eight (8) 3D glasses and two (2) Dual-Play glasses (total of 10 glasses).

Picture Quality as perceived by myself (this can be subjective - depende po sa standards ninyo individually)

1. Standard video/film: no perceived difference.
2. Native 3D video/film: no perceived difference. I even moved left-to-right while watching to check the extent of what I can see at an angle.
3. Native 2D but played as 3D (2D-to-3D conversion): no perceived difference.

* I made sure that the settings were the same on both when I compared.

Sound Quality: no perceived difference. Or maybe I didn't care because I plan to use separate speakers if ever.

Current price difference: around PHP7,000.00

What can be compensated:

As far as lack of Motion Interpolation is concerned:

1. If you do not appreciate the "Soap Opera Effect" then this shouldn't be a problem.
2. As a "test" prior to purchasing, I installed Splash Pro EX on my PC and had my wife/kids watch movies with motion interpolation to see their reaction. They hate it.  ;D I'm not a TV/movie fan and my intention is to purchase only as a gift to the family so personally, whether a TV has it nor not does not bother me.
3. I suggest you do the same if you have a computer at home and see how the family members will react to it. This gives you a more objective and personal basis for a decision. Or, you can bring them along when you test the units.

For the lack of "Internet" capabilities:

1. I can live with it as well since I lean towards my PC for that.
2. It also gives me better control on what the family (especially the kids) would access over the Internet.

Assess your use-case scenarios:

1. Do you see yourself needing/wanting/using "Smart" (Internet) features on a TV?
2. Given the current price difference of the 6130 and 6200, assess your budget limits. For some, a PHP7,000 difference is small, for others it may not. In my case, I plan to purchase other stufff (mostly with my computer) and that PHP7,000 difference, based on my use-case scenarios, will end up in features that I will not be using (masasayang lang).
3. Assess your sensitivity level to picture and sound quality. In my personal assessment I did not notice perceived differences. It may be different for you. As one of the members in this forum has mentioned (I forgot the thread): trust your own eyes. :) Other forum members do offer great advice (no discredit/disrespect meant) but nothing will never come close to your own senses.

This is my take with this scenario, whatever you choose, enjoy it and dont look at the other tvs from other shops para wag manghinayang just in case na hinde ka satisfied sa nabili mo. O did that for 3 years before i decided to purchase a new tv (la6200).

Siguro ang gripe ko lang ay yung size na nabili which is similar to my previous plasma, other than that, no complains.

Masaya talaga mag-audition at magkaron ng choices at pambili as well.

Happy hunting sa mga bibili pa.

Hello po, im planning to buy LG 42LA6130. Pwede po bang magtanong? alam ko walang trumotion ito pero may settings ba para mawala ang judder or stutter while playing ripped movies through usb? working ba ang 24p real cinema through usb playback and how is the quality, nawawala ba ang juddering? about sa subtitle, pwede bang iresize or ireposition (pababa near sa bottom)? lastly, ano po ba ang magaganda at pangit sa TV na to? thanks

Here's a nice review about this TV.

http://welscua.blogspot.com/2013/06/dads-review-lg-42la6130-cinema-3d-tv.html

Btw, I talked to an LG tech at SM yesterday, and he said that this unit has trumotion. I asked him kung bakit hindi ito nakalagay sa site ng LG. He said that may mga mali talaga sa site, for example, the site says that this is a 3D Smart TV maski hindi smart. He also said that all LG 3DTV's have trumotion otherwise, nakakahilo ang 3D. I still think he's mistaken about the trumotion in LA6130. I still have to confirm this with the other techs sa other stores to be sure.

Finally decided to get this model after confirming that the difference between this and the 42LB6200 is only the time machine feature and the cabinet design, both of which don't matter to me. Also, the LA6130 comes with 8 free glasses and 2 dual sport glasses while the LB6200 comes with only 4 glasses, which means that I would have to shell out another P1,990 for an additional set of 4 glasses which would make it more expensive than the 6130.

I'm still trying to get the knack of using the depth control and viewpoint control. I noticed that viewpoint control is available only when playing 3D movies, while both features are available when using 2D to 3D conversion. Other than that, wala pa ako makitang difference. Ano ba ang dapat gamitin para mas enhanced and pop out effect?

+1. This is the LG model that I got- the 5710 over the LA6130. Take note that both have the same IPS panels, but the 5710 has 120hz trumotion. No regrets. I actually got this in time for the NBA playoffs..:) Even with cable TV, the PQ is great.
