How to output DTS through ASIO in JRiver MC18? Help
« on: Jul 23, 2013 at 01:44 AM »
I have just installed MC18 in preparation for MC 19 upgrade. While wading through articles and FAQs, I stumbled upon "the order" of best recommended audio output as ASIO>WASAPI>Direct Sound. I tried all three and I must say that ASIO sounds the best for me.

But my problem came when I tried to play a movie with a DTS soundtrack and the ASIO connection cannot bitstream or output the signals. It says your audio format may not be supported by your hardware. But when I choose WASAPI or DS as output formats, the sound is played but the audio path indicates that the signal is streamed as two channels and the receiver mixes it into 5.1

Can anybody help me how to tweak it in order to output dts? I am using ASIOforALL v2.

Thanks.
