don't those TV's upscale HD content to 4K ala some Samsung models?
they do but that’s simulated content and not native content

1 year ko ginamit as pc monitor yung LG C8 ko. No Burn in issue. I played dota, edited youtube videos and browsed the internet with lots of static images. Never had issues. I guess it depends sa usage hours? I don't think I've racked enough usage hours on my tv. I have to check though. Will do a follow-up video on my LG C8 soon. :D (it's what actually got my youtube channel rolling. lol)

Just wanna share my experience with LG Oled C7 model... I noticed a box image in the middle when I was watching a movie and some other screen uniformity issues. Screen burn maybe?.. The box can't be seen in Color Black (haha because I think the pixel is off) but it is notieceable in colors red, white, yellow and other light colors..

I reported it to LG last Sunday, emailed some pictures and then immediately got a reply. Someone contacted me the following day and remotely accessed my TV to check if there are other issues.. Today they went to the house, checked the TV and immediately replaced the panel.. I just showed them the receipt that it was still under warranty.

Really happy with their service. Anybody had the same issues with Oled? I just want to know how to prevent it. I don't leave any static images because I am aware of screen burn issues and I also had a lot of plasma TV's before..

For me worth it narin even if I encountered an issue because OLED PQ is still the best for me..

IMHO, LG probably has the best aftersales service in Metro Manila at the moment.

Meanwhile, here's their top of the line model in Asia:

However, I believe this is probably the best commercially-available TV right now:

Panasonic Viera GZ2000

The department store made a mistake (see last photo) putting the inferior panel of the 8k Aquos within 8 ft of the far superior PQ of the GZ2000.

Hi Sir. Did they tell you the cause of that screen issue?

He didn't say exactly but I think he mentioned that there are also some burn-in cases due to Cable TV Viewing where a logo caused a screen burn-in but it's very rare.. Btw, my 2yr old daughter also uses the TV for Youtube Kids and Netflix.

Whoa!  I hope someone gets to audition this one soon.

The pricing is a tad bit optimistic but I'm pretty sure these will go down considerably after Christmas.

Ganun pag LG din yung panel supplier ng Skyworth.

BOE China OLED panels should be cheaper, but quality yet to be seen.

Vincent Teo from HDTV Test mentioned that you should always put your TV on standby power when not using it (i.e. never unplug it) so that it can run its compensation cycle/ pixel refresh when it is on standby.

Other than that, sa personal experience ko, I just vary the content that I watch but it's not intentional on my part. I just watch different contents lang talaga.

I did use it as a PC monitor for almost a year, and never got burn in even though there were a lot of static images. Another thing to consider is to lower the OLED Light level. I find that 70 seems to be the acceptable OLED light brightness level during day time and at night, I put it on Energy Saving - Medium or even Maximum when just browsing stuff on the internet.

I have a LG OLED B6. By the 3 minute mark of this 8K video the video part starts stuttering very badly. Audio is good but video frames only change every 5 seconds or so.

Could you check if your 4K TV has the same issue?

Pang OLED lang ba itong compensation cycle/ pixel refresh or for LED din?

I was gifted with an LG OLED TV bought from costco in the states. I can’t seem to change the country during set up. Could this tv be “locked” for US use only? None of the apps are working (netflix, youtube, etc). Is there a way to “unlock” this for use inthe Philippines? Could I ask LG to do this for me?

you could. just call them on their hotline. they are very responsive. But I'm guessing they probably won't do anything or maybe they can but for a charge? Just contact them directly. Also, I am thinking the apps really are region locked, I guess? I hate that the local OLEDs don't come with Google Assistant.

Get VPN that has a US IP address and configure it for your TV.

Least hassle way to get about this.

So I installed an AppleTV 4K recently and got around to playing 4K HDR movies that are available in iTunes on my LG C8.  While I liked the colors very much, the picture became "softer".  Is this normal?
