Update: A Samsung Tech looked at my TV yesterday and if I am lucky, a new replacement will be delivered again.

Planning to get this today. Last unit na and display unit na lang sa Abensons. Will check it out first. What should I look at for when checking?

I hope you get a bnew unit. Meron pang bnew nito. Nirereplace ulit ng samsung unit ko pero ako na tumanggi. I am requesting na extended warranty na lang. Pag di pumayag, palit bnew unit ulit.

Parang mas okay pa na may isang dead pixel na bnew kesa sa display unit. Nakadynamic mode sila sa store. I read na better break in sa plasma phospors ay low settings.

Here right now in Abensons. Ok na kaso may nakita ako gasgas sa panel medyo malalim. Buti na lang meron pa isang Abensons dito sa sta. Lucia and may stock pa. Will check muna but I've already paid for the unit.

Ok na sana kaso may nakita ako gasgas sa screen and they couldn't say kung may makukuhanan pa.

^Saan at kanino kaya napunta yung bnew na pampalit dapat nila sa unit ko? naging palaisipan tuloy sa akin kung ano kaya ginagawa ng samsung sa mga replacement units na binabalik ng customer dahil may minor problem like isang dead pixel.

BTW, instead of replacement i just requested for additional free warranty from samsung. I was given an extension of 6 months for a total of 30-month warranty.

di kaya nirerefurbished lang then ipapaikot lang din? dun sa system kasi ng Abensons isang provincial store na lang ang meron and di pa sure baka display unit lang din. yung rep ng Samsung sa Abensons na ang nagsabi sakin na ibang unit (whether different model/brand) na lang kunin dahil di talaga malaman kung magkaka-stock pa.

yung replacement ko sa Pasig depot ng Abenson nanggagaling e. Tapos i was informed by Michelle of Samsung na ready na daw bnew unit ko for replacement which i refused kasi nga hassle magpaplit-palit e, humirit na lang ako ng additional warranty which was approved.

did you take note of the serial number/s of the first unit? you should have it in the original OR, or in the Samsung service document. post mo para malaman natin kung na kanino, hehehe

sana nga ginawa ko na lang inuwi ko saka ko tinawag na may gasgas. at least yun na ang TV ko tapos palitan na lang nila pag meron man ipapalit. actually nasa lower right lang siya and di naman masyado haharang kaso yun nga may picture quality degregation makikita sa baba.

oo nga dapat ganun. meron pa sa Samsung na mga sealed units nito.

ako maselan din pero naatim kong may 1 dead pixel in exchange of the superb PQ ng plasmang ito e. naiisip ko din kung better ang black levels ng f8500, sobrang ganda na nun, kasi dito pa lang itim na itim na ang black for my taste

ako din dati, 1 dead pixel naisip ko na din palagpasin. Under normal viewing di mo mahalata. Pag talagang hinanap mo lang makikita mo. So I would say na for some talaga it would not be a big deal.

actually, ako pa nakakita ng gasgas. dapat hindi ko na tinuro dun sa sales agent hehe. although di naman ako nagsisisi sa sharp 50" ko kasi i'm using it now sa PC ko. iniisip ko nga kung ibenta ko na lang yung 23" 1080p ko na Asus monitor.

Just got this TV delivered to our house today, brand new, no dead pixel, 0 MRT, no issues whatsoever. Also updated it to firmware 1017 na rin. Just inputted the main picture settings I remember from my previous 43E490 (w/c was handed down to my sis), and it was good to go. Excellent PQ! Still looking to find a more specific calibration setting for this set.

Now, test mode and break-in for the next few days para kung may defect na lumabas pasok pa sa replacement period.
