Nearest viewing distance for a 50" is one and a half size of the screen, so 75" is 6.25 feet.

I have a 50" plasma and my viewing distance is 12' and i wish I am nearer to the screen.

the bigger the better, we have the same viewing distance ... when i first installed the Pana 42PV8 it seemed huge coming from 29-inch CRT, after a few years naliitan na ako ... was hoping for a 55 or 60-inch by the time na replace ko yung 42PV8, but this deal is too good to pass ... enjoying it so far, but as sir Disturbed mentioned, the bigger the better - consideration talaga is if you have more money to burn

exactly the same experience! nuon nasa SnS kami akala ko malaki na yun Pana 42pv8 only to realize maliit pala when installed :)

If you're replacing a 42", then you should be fine.

If you want to be truly adherent to TV sizes vis a vis viewing distance, then 65" would be best for 1080p video at 10 feet.  For 720p, 50 inches at 10 feet will do.  Note that viewing angles may also be a factor.

i really prefer 55-60 kaya lang wala na plasma na walang 3d na ganun kalaki. eyeing samsung 60ES6500 on sale right now (89,900 + 28" led) kaya lang i don't need 3D at hindi masyado ok ang review sa net

Baka meron pa sir s60 60" plasma sa listening in style, same price ng target nyo 90k. Sakto sir without 3d,wala nga lang freebie na ledtv, pero mukhang mas ayos kaysa 60es6500.

i was looking for a 55 or 60 to with a budget of 80k, but when i saw the quality of this one, it's 51-inch ... i'm giving away 4 inches of my desired size but with extra 50k on my pocket ~ pwedeng pambili ng PS4 or XBox One with a lot to spare kaya I decided to get this one :)

viewing distance is 10 ft ... used to have 42-inch Panny which was ok in terms of size, and now with the 51-inch i'm more satisfied

parehong pareho tayo ng situation. got the panny 42pv8 also for 60k before and my viewing distance is also 10 ft.
with you being satisfied with the 51", i'm getting more convinced to get it

if there are budget constraints, it would be an easy decision to get this one ... but if there's a bigger budget and cost is no concern, there are a lot of other options :)

Can you guys recommend a TV stand that can fit this?  I haven't seen one that is 46" across.  I would rather not hang it on a wall.

Just look for a TV stand that says it can support 50" and up. Not those that can support 32"-50" as it might be on the lighter side of stands.

Visit SM Home Appliance, Abenson or Anson's and they sure will have some in store for you.

I myself is using a 2-tier stand with built-in TV mount, but decided against mounting it as it seems not secured enough. Ended up putting it on top of the glass stand (it says it can support up to 35 kgs).

Question lang mga users nito. Ano mas ok na unit kunin?
51f5000 or lg 50lb5820?
(Lg 50lb5820 - 50' smart led tv, full hd - Php 46500)
Sulit ba yung difference nila sa price, dahil mababawi naman sa electricity or stick na ko dito sa plasma? Mamaya na sana ako kukuha ng unit. Thanks.

At 5 hours a day of use, you'll probably only save about P1k-1.2k a year (very rough estimate). You're better off just choosing whether you really want a plasma or an LED, regardless of the cost. If you want the smart features, I think the plasma equivalent is the 51F5500.

as per Sardaukar, you will not be getting the ROI if you choose LED tv ... if that is your only consideration for choosing the LED tv, it's not worth it ... it really depends on your technology preference and usage

Hi guys!

For the owners of this Plasma TV, so far no issues, no problems? I'm planning to get a 50-incher for the bedroom as the 40-incher looks "small"...Personally, I have had issues with Samsung before so i am quite hesitant to dive again into the brand however, if you all have great experience/s on this particular model then it's worth a try (maybe?)...Main issue w/ Samsung is their power supply usually becomes problematic after 2-years (we had 3 TVs with this issue) then add up the "after sales service" of Samsung...

First time samsung owner with this tv. No problems so far but its only 8mos and i only use to watch movies so i can't really say na gamit na gamit ko siya. Approximately less than 300hours use pa lang. When i bought it may 1 dead pixel. Samsung replaced it with a new unit. So for after sales, i'm satisfied.

Would i recommend this unit. Definitely yes.

@Superman, my unit is only 4 months. No problems so far. Very happy with picture quality, my only caveat is the reflective screen, which I found to be more reflective than my old Panasonic plasma. But I watch mostly at night, and in the morning I have blinds to control the light, so I have managed to minimize this issue.

they still offer this kind of promo.
may nakita ako sa market2x.

Question lang po.
gaano kainit yung likod nito habang nanonood?
sobrang init ba talaga? kasi ngayon mainit na sa sala eh.. (electric fan lang kasi agamit)
and ilan ang typical watts consumption nito? (using watt-meter)

Just to share with the group our latest experience with this plasma tv: three Saturdays ago there was lightning and thunderstorm in our area so as a precaution, I removed from the plug all our plasma and a/c units. In the evening, when I plugged the plasma back, the Samsung sign would come out but could not continue the process.  Instead, we had repeated cycles of on/off and clicking of the power indicator similar to those experienced by previous Samsung owners who suffered from capacitor problems.  Anyway, I reported this to the 1-800 no of Samsung who then scheduled a visit by a Samsung serviceman the following Monday. Actually, the serviceman came on Tuesday morning and diagnosed and repaired the problem in no time.  Accdg. to the serviceman, he needed to upgrade the software/firmware and do the hard reset of the unit. The whole process was fast and every efficiently done.  By the way, we bought our plasma from Abenson Avant Trinoma last September 2013.  Our plasma is now ok and we are back to viewing NBA games!

sir, just like to note that the likely source of surge would be on the cable/RF antenna connection ... in my case i use a surge protector ... if you are unplugging as a precaution during thunder storms, i would suggest disconnecting the cable or RF antenna connection as well

Sa mga may SkyCable digibox, ingat lang sa may Mail Icon kapag nakakatanggap ng notification ang box. Mga ilang buwan na hindi dinelete ng nanay ko ang notification/mail... ngayon na image burn na. Around 3-5 hours a day tv usage niya.

Kita lang naman ang icon pag all white or very light ang background... pero 3 months na pero hindi pa rin nawawala... :(

Anyways, sa mga SkyCable users... delete the notifications so that the Mail icon will not be displayed!
