Thinking about it the 840W is not a class D, it's an A/B at low power & reverts to class A at high power.

Yup!!!!  It's A/B in a different way. Hehe!

Hi Jeff, yes the upgrades are rolling again thanks to Mr Termite but better to do all the repair & prevention work now rather than later. I live about 10 minutes drive from Lilioan.

Repair update.
After 1 layer of epoxy sealer on the floor a few more hairline cracks were noticeable so put down another coat. I wasn't quite sure what else to do with the floor but finding the extra cracks made my mind up. We have coated the floor with coal tar (thanks to RXV pointing me in that direction) as it's a termite deterrent & then I've laid GI sheet on top. I have made sure there will be no vibration & noise coming from the sheets, I also used low to medium density rubber to isolate the sheets from the walls. We start the rebuilding of the stage & seat riser tomorrow, I will be busy organizing the modifications to take the new gears. When the stage & seat riser are complete I will have the room repainted. I have removed all the Velcro patches that a certain acoustics installer had stuck to the walls & the room now looks like it's got white chicken pox, hence the repaint.
I'll post a few pics later after I've eaten.

Hi sir.

Good to see your HT being nicely rebuilt. I used the black coal tar and painted it directly to the wood for termite-proofing. I can attest that it works because I also used them on the wooden fences at our backyard (bore 1 meter deep) and not one wood has been infested by termites (Our backyard has a LOT of termites by the way). It also acts as a water-resistant barrier (although not water-proof).
FYI, Out of O.C'ness :), I also used black coal tar on our wooden ceiling frame. Unlike Solignum, black coal tar once applied will stay forever with the wood. Only downside is that it is a bit messy and can't be used on exposed surfaces. But it's cheap and works well.

Hope to see your project get finished soon! :)

Hi Nelson, no not tiles, it's the GI sheet before it got dirty, the reflections played havoc with the pictures. The concrete for the seat riser will be poured tomorrow, ceiling fan will be removed on Saturday & the plasma screen out on Monday. I'm waiting for a few bits & pieces to arrive so cracking on with projector installation.

Hi RXV, yes we're going slowly with the rebuild & not rushing anything, I have an excellent guy working by himself except for a couple of helpers I get for concrete mixing. I've got no wood but decided to coat the floor in coal tar in case any further cracks in the floor splits the epoxy resin coat. Thanks for pointing me in that direction, I didn't know it was available plus no one else mentioned it.
I'm looking to powering up the new gear in about 4 weeks so being a little patient.

Repair update :-
Seat riser now complete & drying out (see pics).
Plasma screen taken out this morning & now in storage.
Ceiling fan removed.
Modification for the projector cable run in progress.
Screen frame to sit on the plasma mount will be started on Monday.
My painter comes tomorrow, he can only work Sundays which means 2 or 3 Sundays to complete but I still have a lot of work to do so no problem.
All the mold/mildew has been killed.
I have a friend coming from the UK, arrives Tuesday, he lays carpets so hopefully he will assist before he leaves.

Repair update :-
The repaint is now complete, projector bracket installed, cables in & boxing in almost complete, it would have been finished today but my workman is sick. I've almost completed the screen bracket, I've made it out of Aluminum box section that was to be used for the stage & seat riser repair. As it rang like a bell I've spent today filling the sections (3" x 1 3/4") with expanding foam - what a job that was. Tomorrow I will trim the foam, repaint & fit on Wednesday. Brackets for the rear Atmos ceiling speakers made, painted, fitted & cables run in. Carpet should be relaid Thursday/Friday, looks like I'll be doing it myself so that'll be a slow job especially if I hit any snags. The weekend looks good for putting in all the gears & connecting, power up early part of next week   ;D.

Stage area.

The rear.

Projector bracket.

You might want to put sound absorbers at the rear because projector screens are also highly reflective of sound.

Hi Nelson, the acoustics will be the next job. I need to find time to do some drawings for Ricky to look at & come up with a plan, I've been that busy the acoustics has taken a real back seat.

Repair update :-
Boxing in of the projector cables complete.
Door step board fitted, it's taken 4 months to get the board but picked it up yesterday after uttering a few threats to my architect. What do you know, it did not fit, too long & too wide but it was stained & finished well. Managed to trim it to fit without damaging the finish then stuck down with 'No Nails'.
Switch for the redundant ceiling fan removed,  hole filled & painted. I would like to have kept it there as a 'just in case' but I will be fitting an acoustic panel in that position,
Stage carpet fitted & the 3 edges tucked, front will be stuck to the nosing tomorrow. A bit slow on this as my 1st attempt at carpet laying & having to repair the underlay (padding) that the guys who took up the floor tore apart.
Everything is going to schedule even though we've had a few hiccups so well pleased.

The stage area.

Repair update :-
Had a very productive 2 days, carpet re lay completed, screen mounting bracket completed & fitted, equipment rack in place, projector fitted & power connected, surround speakers fitted & connected, seats re assembled & in position. tomorrow I will assemble the screen & fit so still looking good for the power up early next week. I think I may need some more cable trunking but will arrange the cabling so I can retrofit if needed.
The room is now looking almost as intended, pics below.

Thanks at_sunset_blvd, not so much of a face lift but more of a major repair, a gears upgrade & the acoustics will be redone when I get round to it.
