Thanks toys4geeks, the room is 22.75' x 16', front wall to screen 2', screen to front row 10.5', screen to 2nd row 15.5'. I have enough room for a 3rd row so that may be a future upgrade. Now I have the screen up I don't mind either row so don't know which seat I'll be sitting in until I start watching but I'm guessing it'll be the front.

When you are all set up , PM me when you need a kodi box because I so like to be part of your journey as I've seen this thread for some time and learned a lot. Half off on those kodi boxes sound good? :)

Hoping to be set up at the weekend, ran into some unexpected problems that required modifications so a little behind schedule.

Update,
Around 4 days behind schedule due to sourcing materials mainly, plus modifications to the equipment rack & all the silly little jobs like refitting the inner door, at 40 Kg not an easy feat with only 2 people. The speaker cabling proved to be a problem due to to now having 2 amps rather than 1 AV Receiver & having to match up the inputs as my XLR cables were all 1 length but all sorted & connected. The only acoustic parts I'm keeping are the corner bass traps but their build quality is so bad I have made aesthetic covers which will be completed & fitted tomorrow. This has held me up a little as I need the front covers in place so I can re position the sub, I have less space as the screen now takes up an extra 15" on either side. All connections will be complete tomorrow so I'm looking at a Wednesday power up   >:D.
I'll post some pics when all complete, the room is too cluttered at the moment.

Hi at_sunset_blvd, thanks for the offer of help but we've almost completed now including the door. My back is also bad, I have a misplaced disc just below my neck, something I've had to live with for a lot of years so understand your discomfort.

Update :-
My estimation of the power up date doesn't seem to be very accurate, some things are taking way longer than I envisioned. We will complete & fit the bass trap covers today, I'm allowing tomorrow for double checking everything & will start powering up on Friday.
We have run into another slight problem with the acoustics, Ricky was going redo for me but due to time constraints, prior commitments & the distance between us he will continue as my consultant. All his advice so far has been spot on & would not hesitate to recommend him to supply acoustic solutions whether it be executing the treatment solution or acting as a consultant. I will now make my own panels with Ricky's guidance so the room completion is now a little further down the line. I will start using the room as is, I can only detect a small amount of ringing with the hand clap so will take the opportunity to arrive at a solution a little bit at a time.

Thank you george for the appreciation. Sad thing that i cannot  go there yet, schedule very unforgiving. Also pls do share for our fellows what happened to your first treatments. I knew from the start that it wont be good and its not cheap . But dont want to say something until yours came out.  I dont want our fellow members to lose money on it

No problem Ricky, you give credit where it is due
Not to worry, when your schedule is a bit more friendly we can sort something out.
I posted on page 40 of this thread my feelings about the acoustic treatment I had installed. I have had to make alterations to 2 of the bass traps due to them all being larger than the sizes I ordered & on dismantling them my true description of the workmanship would be censored. I am gobsmacked at the quality of workmanship & materials, these would not be accepted free in the UK. I could criticize the installation a whole lot more but it would not achieve anything, I know Ricky would like me to name names but that's not  the way I operate but I'm quite happy to converse by PM. For all of you who are looking for acoustic treatment I would suggest you PM me & I'll do my best to help, I don't want anyone else to make the same mistake I did.
As I wish to forget about this episode I class the subject as closed  (publicly) but quite happy to answer any questions by PM.

These days, so many acoustician wanna be, are joining the band wagon with their so called acoustic treatment, only to find out that their promised solution is just a bunch of foams with no absorption and deflection properties.

Hi kefq, you've got it in 1. There are 2 parts to the equation, first you have to have the knowledge to design a solution (or hire an expert) & second you have to have the skills to implement the design, both were lacking in my installation. After a lot of reading on acoustics I am going to try an unorthodox approach & see where it takes me.

Update :-
I put the power up on hold for a short time as I have been assisting my repair man. By trade he's a mason (an extremely good one) also works for a furniture company making cabinets & everything he turns his hand to he tries to be perfect. He's been with me for 11 weeks now & we've done the HT room rebuild together but unfortunately I can't split myself in two so have had to assist him so he knows exactly what I want. Friday & Saturday we cut all the wood & assembled 14 acoustic panels, they are now ready for filling with Rockwool & covering with fabric. To be on the safe side I will paint the carcasses black in case the light colour of the pine shows through. It'll probably take a day to sort out the way in which the panels will be hung, I have a fairly cheap solution, it just requires implementing.
I'm all ready to power up & may do so later as it looks as if my man is having a day off (he hasn't arrived yet), it all depends on how I get on with the acoustic panels. I will clear the room & post some pics later.

Update :-
Delaying the power up till the weekend, I can't position the subwoofer until I have fitted the front acoustic panels (not enough room). The 1st 8 panels have been painted & the other 6 will be trimmed, sanded & painted tomorrow morning. We will start filling the panels & fitting the fabric tomorrow & will hang them Friday & Saturday. Until then a few pics.

Lunchtime today, 1st 3 acoustic panel carcasses trimmed & sanded.

End of work today, 1st 8 acoustic panel carcasses painted & ready for completion.

Update :-
Ran into a little problem which has hampered the acoustic panel build. The Rockwool I have seems a bit strange, it is supposed to be 50mm but is 60mm at one edge & 100mm at the opposite edge so have trimmed it to fit. I'm hoping the other rolls I have are not the same. 60mm is not a problem, I purchased 3" x 1" Pine for the carcass but turns out to be 2 1/2" x 3/4" which is OK as the Rockwool sat in fine until it increased to 100mm halfway through the roll. The 4 smaller panels are complete, we will finish 2 larger panels & hang them 1st thing tomorrow, put the subwoofer in position so I can power up on Sunday when my man has his day off. I'm estimating that there will be 5 panels to cover on Monday so I'll be able to do a proper calibration on Tuesday. The 2nd pic is for Ricky & my question is  - How are my corners ?

1st 4 panels complete.

A close up of the corners.

Update :-
4 panels to be covered with fabric tomorrow & 12 to hang so will be completed on Tuesday. Powered up today & considering no set up the sound was good. Only 1 problem, my sub is not working, acting as if it has no power, a little job for me tomorrow. The PQ of the 8300 out of the box is very good & as my eyes are not what they used to be I will not bother to get it calibrated unless other viewers pass comment. Will do a full set up Tuesday/Wednesday & take some pics, well happy so far.

Hi Nelson, after all the hard work I think think the PJ will have to wait a few hours for me to break in  ;D Seriously, even though none of the gears have yet reached their optimum performance everything was really good. Looking forward to many hours of viewing & if I get the acoustics right, listening.

Yeah!!! And how are the power amps performing?

I'm well happy, the amps are great considering no burn in & the subwoofer is OK, turned out to be a bad outlet. 6 acoustic panels hung so the other 8 tomorrow & then I'll do a calibration. I've decided to make 8 diffuser panels, one can only experiment.
Pics tomorrow.
