Heavy rock and metal and loud music in my opinion is not the forte of both APPJ and fullrange as well anyway. Jazz, acoustic, classical, voice, and critical listening, wala ako masabi...

Haha hindi naman sir. Actually the Alpair 10P is mine, while the Alpair 7 is going to be used for car audio in the near future. Binu-burn-in ko lang sila using the APPJ's strictly following Mark Fenlon's burn-in low volume procedure.

The past days I had the chance to connect a vintage pioneer SS preamp featuring only gain for the left and right channels, no bass knob, no treble knob, no loudness switch.... I can say there is really an improvement... para nga nag transform, parang nakaturbo hehehe,,,pag mas ilakas ang volume parang mas sweet sound tunog nya (eto ba yung even? harmonics ng tube amps?). wala ako tweeter gamit pero ang kalansing....

as bro RXV and I have experienced when we paired this amp to my tube pre amp grabe talaga magiging improvement nya hindi lang gabi at araw baka buwan pa hehehe! lalo sir pag high sensitivity full range speakers like AN ang ida-drive nyan mas maganda

Pwede na. But not the best combination. I think 94db and up is the way to go for more driver control, scale, and impact.

I'm currently driving my Markaudio 10P (sensitivity of 89.7 db) with my APPJ, temporarily in open baffle enclosure habang wala pa akong nagagawang proper box. In my 16 sq.m. room, it would fill the room with music at 1 o'clock poisition. Normal SQ listening levels for me (around 2.5 meters away) is 12-1 o'clock position, anything louder than that is not comfortable for me anymore (for critical listening anyway).

I actually have a monitor audio RS center but I didn't try connecting it to the APPJ since it is only one piece, so hindi ko nasubukan for stereo use.

If you want, you could try it out at my place and let's see how you MA BX2 matches with the APPJ.
But take note, audition/testing lang ha, I don't have any more APPJs on sale hehe.

Buti ka pa may preamp na bro. Yan ang balak kong upgrade in the future, pero tube preamp na siguro para all tube setup na

Best bet mo is DIY. Pasok ka ng drivers. Audio Nirvana 8", Fostex FE206EN (8") or FE166EN (6.5") or FE126EN, Visaton BG20 (8"), Lao Cao 8" and 6.5". RXV is experimenting with a Markaudio 10P (91db).

AAudio Roman seems to use the BG20. Ask Anthony kung mayroon pa siya. He had single and array models.

Kung bookshelf, you will need a sub to get proper bass. Not always but most likely.

Lastly, sold out na ang APPJ on this thread. You will have to bring in your own.

I was looking for bookshelf kase maliit lang ang listening room. Napatingin ako sa single driver speakers. Mukhang ok din. Klipsch speakers meron din silang bookshelf na high sensitivity. Will research pa. I like this mini set amps hopefully makakuha soon para ma try..

I heard the 8" Copenhagen speakers in a similarly sized room backed up against the wall. Sounded very good. Full bass. Some guys have heard the APPJ with Audio Nirvana 8". Very positive reviews.

Yung Fostex 6.5" ko bitin ang bass. With a sub it sounds fantastic. A member bitin din sa bass ng Fostex FE207E niya in bookshelf. 8" na yun. You will need a sub for it to sound right or live with the bass it offers.

Truth is, Floorstander and bookshelf will most likely occupy the same foot print. Mabigat lang sa mata ang floorstander and mabigat literally.

Here's my room with 6.5" fostex and 8" sub.

I checked with supplier. Fostex FE126EN pair abutin P10k landed, tax paid. Fostex FE166EN abutin P15k. Fostex FE206EN abutin P18K. Wala pa cost mo ng box.

Nice setup! Ano yung nasa taas ng bookshelf speaker? tweeter? Gusto ko ng bookshelf para hindi din mabigat/mainit sa mata. Andito pa kase ko sa Iran so mas ok saken na puede ko iuwi kung babalik kami dyan ng walang hassle. Mas malaki ang room mo compare sa room ko at madami din gamit. So, mukhang ok saken ang bookshelf. Medyo mabass yung lugar kung nasan ang setup ko ngayon dahil nakapaloob siya at makipot..

Nakapagtanong din ako about Fostex FE206EN dito. Aabutin ako ng $600 kasama na lahat. Meron din kaseng mga DIYer dito. Will check differences ng FE126EN/FE166EN/FE206EN online. Ang 6.5" na drivers ok na siguro sa lugar ko ano? Makapag research pa ulit. Balak ko bumili ng amp dyan na sa pinas. Dapat bibili na ako last month at dito ko papaship pero nagbago isip ko baka magkaproblema pa. Will get a PP then get this Mini amp din soon.. APPJ or LM mini 218. Isa isahin ko muna.

Go over the box size ng seller mo. Kasi even the 6.5" has a relatively big bass reflex box. The 8" even bigger.

share ko lang mga bro latest experience ko with my own appj minitube amp. recently i got hold of a headphone amp and tried to use it as pre amp to feed the appj. well, there is a considerable gain! the effect is just like what bro. remington has been preaching. parang naka turbo or steroids. the secret is you need a gain stage for the appj.

good thing the headphone amp is almost the same size wise with the appj. so di masakit sa mata tignan. i had tried before a vintage pioneer pre amp with excellent results but napakalaki ng size compared to appj.

you can try mura lang naman headphone amp, wont cost u an arm and a leg
