This is truly a deserving tube amp for P13,838. It is a mix of old and new. A tube amp with a modern switching power supply. That makes it compact.

Gino, Where did you see the P6k+ price? Usually nakikita ko on Ebay is either $189 or $234 e, shipping/taxes not yet included. I actually saw a new version of the APPJ which is cheaper, but it is smaller in size  and has a different set of tubes used (slightly less powerful rating). It's rather cute though.

Yes, for me it is one of the best quality "true" tube amp for P10k-below range. For its price, I haven't seen anything more value-laden and sweeter than this one (and let's not forget "tune-able", because of possible 1 piece 12ax7 tube rolling)

Yes, there are cheaper options out there such as some hybrids, class-D, or solid state amps. But for my personal tastes, nothing beats old school goodness when it comes to clarity, smoothness, warmth, and naturalness that a tube amp provides.

This tube amp certainly deserves recognition and respect in its own right.

My mistake RXV. I computed $89 instead of $189. New computation becomes P10,764 for amp and shipping. Local customs assuming 10% tax rate amounts to P3074. Landed cost from Ebay is P13,838. It is still a bargain for what it delivers.

BTW, here's the other APPJ version that uses 6J1/6P1 tubes. Cute little bugger.



But I still prefer the older version. One reason: "12AX7". So cheap and easy to find for tube rolling. It never ends

Installed JJ EL84. So far I am liking it. I am not tube rolling. I just replaced the defective ones.
