Nelson, i think the sidings and base is thick acrylic plates. Sonny will look for the dimensions. Parang unusual transmission line design siya with alternating dark and light colored wood:)

Pwede din thick acrylic. Pero in terms of hardness/stiffness, iba ang polycarbonate kasi gamit siya sa as panangga ng mga riot police.. There are times na nag-shallow cracking ang acrylic (same sa Jeep windows though probably due to sun exposure).

Assembled the drivers and the stuffings (added 2 more layers of compressed polyfill behind the drivers only to improve articulation of the bass).....and here it is in action.....

Thanks!

Have completed an audio chain system (which I thought can't be done) all DIYed with the help of my audio friends and experts in their own fields -  from NOS CDROM player, Aikido preamp w/ lightspeed potentiometer, tubed buffers, gainclone monoblocks, Mark Audio Speakers on Pensil enclosure, line conditioners, power noise filters, interconnects, power cables, speaker cables, acoustic panels .......  ^-^ :D 8)

Yup. You have a system no one can just buy right now and listen to the same day. Congrats. I think your system is worth an audition and a road trip.

Is the top wood for aesthetics only? I'm imagining it without the top wood accent but I guess it compliments the base's wood color.

Congrats!

Well one of the reason I gave it a top piece is bec sometimes we like to put stuff on top of the speakers.... ::) plus yes it complements the base better than without it.... At least in my point of view. ^-^

Agree and placing the top piece is also very useful in protecting the paint finish when the box is carried and handled during stuffing tweaking and room placement activities, edges will also be protected while the box is laid on the floor ....... Very useful indeed and a must for painted finish....

Agree as well, I often come in my office surprised to see something sitting on top of my speakers, desk calendar, stapler, pair of scissors, scotch tape etc. etc.  :o

Nice. What finish are you planning to do with it?

Also, what varnish did you use before? Glossy ba or matte lang?
Did you use wood sealer before the varnish?

Not decided on the finish yet but leaning towards oil based stain. I will do the refinish next week when I return from Baguio, magmuni-muni sa piling ng mga pine trees and decide on the color  ;)

It was a very thin coat of clear lacquer na glossy, a temporary finish sir.
