As chance would have it, Mark replied already and directed to me Evan. Still waiting to hear from him if he has a shop I can visit when I'm in there.

Spoke to Neo already sometime ago, if I can't get them in HK then I'll have a pair couriered from SG instead.

Mark has been battling the big "C" for a few years now.

He must have referred you to Evan Yu. I think Mark is now transitioning daily tasks to his second in command - Evan. Each Alpair 10P is marked with "Developed by Evan Yu". I say wait for Evan's reply first then go with Neo if HK option doesn't push thru.

Ganda tumunog nito! heard it last week paired with a tube amp. Anlaki ng box and ganda ng finishing. Sabi ko nga Sonus Alpair! hehehe!

Usually high frequencies ang affected kapag off-axis due to beaming.

Di naman problema for critical listening dahil most of the time ang owner ng speakers ay nakaupo naman sa sweet spot.

Matagal ko na siya actually ginagamit, ngayon ko lang natapos yung finishing (which was the harder part).
This is actually just phase 2. I have a final phase 3 for this build (pero vacation mode muna hehe).

I will probably create a separate thread here regarding this DIY build to share to others on how this was made.

Sir, what model(s) of Markaudio drivers are you referring to? I haven't heard other models of MA kasi, so I can't give an opinion on that. But with the Alpair10P, off-axis response is actually very good based on my own experience and from what I read from majority of DIYaudio members when I was researching on it back then. And the beaming effect of this one is actually very low, even comparable to other high-end speakers that I've heard. Midrange shout in this driver for me is almost non-existent, although like most fullrange speakers, the mids are a bit more pronounced (which is actually what I like). All-in-all, this is a very excellent driver surpassing multiple times its pricepoint/pricerange (no exaggeration here). I'm very happy with this one, definitely a keeper.

For me, high frequencies of this driver is not really affected when off-axis compared to other speakers. Probably due to it's wide dispersion design and deletion of phase plug.

For a pure paper cone design, high frequencies are not perfect, but all the details are there, even surpassing some speakers that have a dedicated tweeter in them. The midrange for me is to die for, which is why I acquired this driver in the first place. And bass is adequate for SQ use and critical listening.

I plan to incorporate a super tweeter in the future, but it is actually not needed naman, it's just for the sake of perfection. Haha

The attenuator knob on the aluminum back plate is for my phase 3 of incorporating a supertweeter in the future.
Maraming nagsasabi sa akin na hindi naman kailangan ng supertweeter pa, but when you get to hear speakers with 6-digit price tags, you'd understand why hahaha. Not really needed, but only for the quest of perfection.

The W logo is just for my own aesthetics purposes/branding. Para lang mas mukhang professional tignan.

Yes I will post it here soon for the sake of sharing my experience to the PDVD community.
FYI, the challenge in this build, was everything was hand-built or custom-made (except for the drivers and materials of course).

don't know exactly the model me nagbulong lang.....palagay ko yung pinaguusapan dito....
i think it had a lot to do with preference, pag meron ka nang na gustuhan na speaker
malamang ididisregard mo na yung another to justify your choice....

normal human reaction....and it goes for all other things that we do or like....

True, i've heard 3 different MA driver models - Alpair 7.3, Alpair 10P & CHR-70.3A and wala ni isa ang may off-axis response issue or beaming. Off-axis response issue is related to beaming which is prominent in big FR driver cones; 10inches & up esp if you have a small room (22sqm or less) or listening position is less than 3mtrs from the speakers. Which can be addressed if you are using horns or wave guide, di ba sir Larry?

Very happy with my 10Ps s well, mag-3yrs na nga hindi pa ako nag-upgrade. Kung may naririnig akong mali sa tunog e di sana matagal ko ng binenta haha
