but i saw a clip of games where daniel padilla is playing, seems like he has what it takes to play serious ball, not sure though if that is enough at the level of the d league.

To his credit, it seems like D. Padilla is telling that truth that he has no plans to play ...... it seems like this was just a media stunt by his school or his handlers.

Not unlike Pacman ...... ginagag0 ang basketball watching public.  ;)

^ End of his rookie contract.

The media circus was an attempt by Lee & his manager Chongson, to get traded to SMCorp ...... this despite the fact that ROS was already offering a max contract.

Mabuti na lang at sobrang madaming nagalit (SMCorp followers included) sa latest attempt na garapalang ito.

Kaya pala two years lang ang pinirmahan, despite the fact that RoS is offering three years.

Enrico Villanueva had his best years in the PBA when he was with coach Yeng and Red Bull.
Nagkaletche letche career nya when he was traded to the SMB group of teams and Paul Lee will surely suffer the same faith should he insist goin with the SMB group of teams.

Pacquiao scores 1 pt in KIA loss to Blackwater
ABS-CBNnews.com
Posted at 10/04/2014 10:55 PM | Updated as of 10/04/2014 10:55 PM

MANILA – Manny Pacquiao and the KIA Sorento lost its pre-season joust against Blackwater Elite, 88-77, in the PBA Liga ng Bayan in Binan, Laguna on Saturday.

Pacquiao, the oldest rookie ever to play in the league, notched 1 point and 1 rebound in 10 minutes of play with KIA.

Blackwater’s Chris Timberlake and Sunday Salvacion took turns guarding the 8-division boxing champion, who took a break from training camp just to be with Sorento.

Pacquiao, who wants KIA to be a defense-oriented team, said his squad will need to do some improvements at the defensive end.

“Puwede namin mag-capitalize is yung defense namin, pero kanina, di pa namin na-execute yung depensa masyado na gusto namin,” Pacquiao said in Richard Dy’s report to Spin.ph.

Alex Nuyles and Salvacion led the way for Blackwater, scoring 18 and 15, respectively. Reil Cervantes topscored for KIA with 23 points, while Chad Alonzo had 10.

Pacquiao plans to be with KIA when it opens its 2014-2015 PBA campaign. KIA Sorento is scheduled to take on the Elite again on October 19.

“Lalaro ako sa opening para ma-inspire yung team ko,” he added.

No matter what the critics will say, Pacquiao will be the main attraction of the PBA this coming season no matter what the outcome of Kia games against other PBA teams.
There's is no doubt he's in just for the sake of advertisements and promotions of KIA cars in the Philippines and maybe in the world.

I doubt Pacquiao is in the PBA just for the sake of advertising and promoting KIA cars. The man wants to play just like most everyone dreams of, or has dreamt of playing in the PBA.  Whether he has the talent or not to play the game professionally, he has the means to fulfill that dream.

Indeed, it's very clear to see that Pacman has that genuine dream to play professional basketball ........ however, so does tens of thousands of other more-deserving Filipinos.

It's just unfortunate that these others don't have the means to buy, este get a slot on a PBA team.

Pacquiao's legacy as a boxer has long been secured and cast in stone ....... however, everything else he does is completely "pakapalan nang mukha".  ;)

Another lopsided trade if Comm Salud approved this.  Looks like Blackwater is a farm team of MVP after all  ;D

http://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/news/kevin-alas-larry-rodriguez-kg-canaleta-three-team-trade-nlex-blackwater-talk-n-text-pba

Quote
Under the tweaked deal, Blackwater will kick off the movement by sending its 2015 first-round pick to Talk 'N Text for journeyman KG Canaleta. Blackwater will then ship Canaleta to NLEX for Alas, who will then be immediately shipped by the Dioceldo Sy-owned team to the Tropang Texters for its 2015 first-round pick and veteran forward Larry Rodriguez.

In short, Blackwater traded its 2015 (most probably higher) first round pick for TnT's (most probably lower) first round pick and Rodriguez, who they could have gotten from the dispersal draft.

BLACKWATER's failed negotiations with dispersal top-pick Ildefonso, was probably the reason why they did this deal to get Rodriguez ....... Ildefonso wants max money despite being on his last legs as a player.

I myself have very serious doubts about Sy's financial capabilities to run a PBA team for the long haul - but its still way too early to tag this team a farm team for either MVP or SMCorp.

Iba din talaga ang media natin, sa sobrang daming grossly lopsided deals na ginawa at ginagawa nang SMCorp with AIR21 & BARAKO, not once akong nakabasa nang formal article claiming these teams to be SMCorp farm teams ....... pero, isang suspicious deal lang between MVP & a new team - farm team agad ang headline nang article.  ;)
