Watched two episodes already. Kinda disappointed with the Jobs like character Lee Pace is portraying. Jobs was never that useless technically.

started watching this.... a bit leaning on the technical side.. and to think my background is I.T.... but baka sa first few episodes lang..its interesting though.. is this based on true events ba or not? coz they are very strong in delivering the message that the antagonist in their show are big corporate companies..  wont they have legal problems?

Watched the entire first season run...it was okay, but difficult to watch because the main characters were all unlikeable, except for the wife and manager. While they got the timeline and technology right, it's just unbelievable how the 3 main characters alternate between genius and batsh!t crazy--surely nobody can be that stupid, really? By the halfway mark you already suspect that the stupid things they do are just contrived to generate drama on this show.

Lee Pace seems to be carving a career path playing a$$holes--he's an a$$hole elf in The Hobbit movies, an a$$hole Kree in Guardians of the Galaxy, and now an a$$hole Product Manager here, LOL.

The show got favorable reviews from critics, but was a ratings bomb, with its fate still up in the air. But even if they don't renew it, I think they already told the story they wanted to tell.

.. is this based on true events ba or not? coz they are very strong in delivering the message that the antagonist in their show are big corporate companies..  wont they have legal problems?

It's a fictionalized account of how the race for the market of cheap IBM clones started...characters are not based on real people, but the events shown are all part of computing history, something to which I was witness to in the early 1980s, when a price war between the cheaper home computer developers--Atari, Commodore, Radio Shack, Sinclair and Texas Instruments turned ugly and everyone lost except Commodore, while Apple and IBM slowly took over the higher-end market.

The TV series starts after the home computer fallout in 1982 (Gordon's wife was clearly shown recommending they drop the TI-99, one of the losers in the home computing market--I remember seeing a sad TI-99 always on display at Abenson's counters, LOL), with IBM just introducing their IBM PC, a machine still considered as way too expensive for home users at the time.

Watched the pilot and was very impressed.

Polarizing characters even if I find Lee Pace to be a bit over the top in terms of acting. If he can get that Steve Jobs taste out of his acting and act out a less caricature like performance, he could be very interesting in this one.

I've heard mixed reviews regarding the latter half of the season and I'm still on the fence if I should watch the whole season since it's still to be determined if it will get a second season. Wouldn't want to waste my time on this if it gets axed.

Nonetheless, if they could get another season things may look up (hopefully). Breaking Bad almost got canceled on the first season due to ratings but it turned out to be magnificent and arguably the most acclaimed series on television.

While it's a stretch to compare it to the exquisite B. Bad, Halt and Catch Fire has got potential to take over the slow burn character driven drama vacated by Mad Men, I just hope they can keep making antique computer-building sexy and exciting enough.

I love the premise of the show and I grew up playing with an Apple IIe. however, the writing is too inconsistent for it to reach the level of becoming a hit. The casting is quite good and I hope the writers deliver a cohesive storyline for the 2nd season.

This show should be better titled as Develop Then Self Destruct... yet it's actually fascinating to watch these talented yet unlikeable people make consistently bad choices leading to their ruin, all within the backdrop of the evolving computer technology of the mid-1980s.

One of the most interesting parts of the episode aired a week ago was when Gordon and kids visited his mother-in-law, and she mentioned something about a device that her husband brought back from his trip to Japan:

Grandma: Gave him one of those arcade game video things you plug into your TV...It's not being released until the fall.
Grandma: Hey, sweethearts, what is that contraption called?
Kids: A Nintendo!

Surprisingly, we are getting a 3rd season. Have to say that Season 2's episodes were more consistent and cohesive than Season 1. Also, Kerry Bishe is my favorite redhead on TV at the moment.

Yes! Season 2 was much better, but I didn't like what they did with Scoot McNairy's character. Yup, like Kerry Bishe a lot too, and Mackenzie Davis is on a roll nowadays, particularly as part of the stellar supporting cast of The Martian. I'm hoping her character on the show evolves more.

Still watching this ... this 3rd season is actually quite good. You want these complex characters to succeed, but always there's this feeling that they'll eventually come crashing down.

Last night's episode was the best -- and devastating; I knew it was coming eventually, but when it did, it was like a gutpunch. I'm really going to miss this show.

That was a truly satisfying conclusion to the series--I'm really glad I stuck with this to the very end.  8)
