Ray Allen leaning toward Cleveland a.k.a. Ray Allen Pakipot moves >:D

Quote
Veteran guard Ray Allen is leaning toward returning for his 19th season and joining his former Miami Heat teammate LeBron James on the Cleveland Cavaliers, The Boston Globe has reported, citing an NBA source.

Mavs are having a good off season...

If Jameer can stay healthy he's way better than Felton

NBA: Lakers mum on report Scott offered coaching job

This probably would be the worst kept secret of the year in terms of a coaching hire.

While the probable hiring of Byron Scott is forthcoming, it's another one of those headscratching moves of Mitch.  Scott is known for teaching defense and is known for the Princeton style of offense. Both of which are certainly not what the current roster is suited for. So delay the hiring of a coach so that you can select someone suited for this line up.  Then hire a coach whose style is the complete opposite!   ;D

Well, if Byron Scott is the coach, I hope it's not for more than 2yrs.

I guess this was another business move only by Mitch. Draw the fans with sentimentality and just try to win as many games as possible.

At least they finally got a coach.

Lakers will probably get around 35 to 40 wins. Enough to lose their pick next year to the Suns.

Yes they did.
Princeton didn't work when Mike Brown tried to implement it with Kobe-Nash-Pau-Dwight. Wonder how Byron will fare.

To be fair to Potatohead, he did not have Dwight in training camp and he was axed very early in the season before his players were able to fully grasp his system. Maybe Scott will do a better job with this team with the help of training camp.

you're right, no Dwight yet during the early part of the season.

The Lakers did go 0-8 during the preseason though, with Kobe-Nash-Pau.

They can always fire him if it fails again.

I said business move kasi Scott isnt the best availavle coach but he is a former Laker whom fans will definitely gravitate towards.

that's true but the fact that right now they want him for 4 years means that it's not a temporary venture and they really think that he fits the bill. hope they are right and that it pans out.

http://www.rantsports.com/nba/2014/07/29/robert-horry-would-be-great-hire-for-byron-scott-los-angeles-lakers/

Robert Horry likely to go back to the Lakers as well.  And with Gary Payton also rumored to be an assistant coach, looks like it will be reunion of sorts of former Laker players eh?

baka standard lang talaga nila 4 year deals? haha look at Potatohead's and Pringles' contracts. 4 year-deals din yata pareho, IIRC.

Anyway, I loved seeing the support Scott got kanina from his former teammates. Magic, Kareem and Wilkes were present during the presscon for B. Scott. Magic had expressed his dislike for the Mike D'antoni hiring before so seeing his pal getting the head coaching job for the P&G is definitely a positive sign for him. Dito mo makikita kung gano kaganda yung organization because former players still gravitate towards the purple and gold kahit na their playing days have long been over.

Sila Magic, Kareem, Worthy, Cooper, Scott, Rambis, Rick Fox and Horry are still hardcore Lakers guys. Jerry West din pala.

Old school Celtics ganun din. Hardcore. Can't say the same for many of the other franchises though. Maybe sa Rockets since Olajuwon and Clyde are still hardcore Rockets guys as well as sa Spurs na merong Admiral but there's not a lot of former players na very loyal to their former teams.
