jrcrunch, It would be wise to do some research on the net. A lot depends on what resolution you intend to use (1080P etc.) Me personally I would use a high quality HDMI cable + a signal amplifier with 2 outputs.

Active HDMI cable would be more reliable.

Hi Marc, I don't know much about active cables but would think that non active would be easier to fault find in the event of a problem. From what I've read, over the distance being quoted unless you go for a top notch (expensive) cable problems may be incurred.

yes ordinary hdmi cables can't handle that distance; long wire, high resistance, voltage drop and eventually signal loss. an active hdmi cable is one with with a built in signal amplifier to address the voltage loss problem.

Yes I am aware of that but in my 1st answer I did say + a signal amplifier with 2 outputs.

I understood your answer clearly and I don't see any more reason to lengthen this exchange, my 1st post was in response to the first post. We're actually giving him two very similar options.  :)

Follow up question in relation to this: at what length should we consider 'amplifying' our hdmi cables?

Edit: nevermind. Found my answer. 25 feet. :)
