No, nasa 1116 pa rin ako sir.

Pag nagka problema, there's no way to roll it back to the previous firmware.

To date, wala pa naman akong nabalitaan na problema sa firmware updates ng F8500, as long as you follow the recommended procedure:

1.  Unplug all HDMI connections, USB connections, and power plug.
2.  Reconnect power plug, then connect USB flash drive for firmware update (USB drive is more reliable than online updating).
3.  Reset to factory settings after updating.
4.  Reconnect all connections.

Pag may napansin kang error sa existing firmware, just reset with the user menus, usually maaayos yan.  No need to reset using the service menu.

AFAIK, may 3 problems na hindi pa na-resolve even in the US firmwares:

1.  Brightness pops in 3D setting when Cinema Smooth is off.
2.  Frame skipping in 2D when Cinema Smooth is on.
3.  When Cinema Smooth is on then turned off, Motion Judder Canceler (MJC) is automatically enabled even if the menu says it's off.  To disable MJC, you must turn it off again even if the menu says it's already "off."

Now that I have a player that plays both 24.000 and 23.976 fps correctly, I can confirm that on 2D, the Samsung F8500 displays 24.000p correctly, but does not display 23.976p correctly.  On 3D, 23.976p displays correctly.

The problem with most TV and player specs is that when the manufacturer says "24p," you can't be sure if they mean 24.000 or 23.976, since both are commonly referred to as "24p," which leads to a lot of confusion.

This TV displays 2D 23.976p incorrectly.  A frame is doubled occasionally, to catch up with the 24.000p frame rate it's capable of.  The only way to display 2D 23.976 without doubled frames is to set the player and/or the TV to 60p.

But on 3D, a 23.976p source must be displayed as 23.976p.  If the TV is set to 60p, I get brightness fluctuations on 3D.

I just want to update.
Malas ata ako sa 64f8500 ko, I purchased this last year and this August Nasira yung hdmi port no signal tapos ngayon naman October no power na yung plasma TV. Sira ang power supply, nanood ako in normal condition wala kidlat then suddenly it gone kaput.buti pa yung Sony ko na lcd na 32 inches 9 years na buhay parin. Parang walang quality control itong samsung sayang ang 137k ko I just want to vent out my frustrations.

1 year and 2 months pa Lang yung TV sira na . I'll definitely stay away from Samsung from now on kahit ang high end niya sirain !

Yung Sony ko na 9 years old na lcd ang nasa room ko ngayon na never been repaired at upgraded . This Samsung 64f8500 will be my last samsung  I will never buy again their Tv's I did not expect na Ganito Kabilis masira samantalang series 8 pa to. Dapat nagbasa ako ng Amazon reviews na madali masira after or within 2 years, yung sa akin nga wala pa 1 year nung una Nasira yung hdmi port.

My 51F8500 is still alive and kicking bought it last yr. it's the only alternative to OLED for the meantime while the prices of OLED TV is for the rich man only. Anyway you should be able to claim warranty for it.

Ang swerte mo kasi alive and kicking pa yung TV. You should use it regularly so that if there is a problem you can  have it repaired immediately , akala ng technician power supply yung problem he found out na main board pala ulit ang problem(dito naka connect ang hdmi).

The same main board that was replaced this August. Ano yun 2 months Lang sira na?no problem naman pag claim ng warranty ang problem is pag na tapos ang warranty tapos masira siya . I found out na 5k yung main board.

OK pa rin ang 51F8500 ko.

So sorry to hear about your TV, sir rafaellius.

While I was watching bigla na Lang Namatay yung TV .

if the issue is recurring, you should also consider possible issues on the commercial power in your area, perhaps using an AVR would help protect the equipment ... I know you mentioned that you have a Sony LCD that never experienced an issue for so many years, but that is not a good comparison as the 2 are different technologies, and the Samsung plasma TV may be more susceptible to power fluctuations

Actually I'm using an avr when the main board gone kaput. So I assume there is a design defect with the model 64f8500 , while browsing some comments on Amazon.com you can find similar cases ,that is happening with this model.

According also to the technician Who went to replace the mainboard  they rarely replace this part , they only replace this when there is a sudden lighting or there is some components on the mainboard that is not working.

Bakit may babayaran ka?  AFAIK, F Series are covered with a 24-month warranty.  It's in the Samsung website and you can ask their hotline and they will say the same.  The 24 months covers both labor and parts so dapat wala kang babayaran.  All you need to do is show your proof of purchase, in this case, the receipt.
Pwede naman magtagalog.  Let's make PDVD a better place.  https://www.englishgrammar101.com

mga sirs, can other non-samsung accredited service centers repair/replace the main board. tulad ng iba sa inyo. bumigay din yung main board. i think capacitor yung pumotok kasi may burn marks yung isang mylar capacitor. so i called samsung. may pinapunta naman silang technician. i readied myself to be charged 5k++ for the board replacement kahit na alam kong a capacitor costs less than 50 pesos.  but lo and behold after less than 10 minutes of checking voltages. his recommendation was to replace the main board and the panel. i went ballistic right there and then. f*ck. you're asking me to replace my goddamn tv (a panel is just as expensive as the whole tv) for just one burnt capacitor. i called samsung and requested that they sent me a new technician because the one they sent doesn't know $hit. but the reply i got was they will still need to investigate and check the report from the technician.
so ganun, i feel samsung will take the side of their technician. ano ba naman laban ko dun. i am yust a customer and their technician has 15 years of experience (according to him) of replacing board and panels (according to me). and it is to their advantage that i replace the tv.
