sa samsung concept store sa cebu sir, for 85k comes with a HTIB na sammy din but i sold it out. bought last year november.

3D Blu-ray din?  Magkano benta mo sir?

atty. basta ang pinaka puti na liwanag yung ang the best to picked? kasi can't tell visually if its luminance or color temp. is near 6500k.

Hindi ko rin naman alam ang exact 6500K, I just have some idea about how it should look like.

No, 6500K is not pure white.  Slightly yellowish pa nga (but very slight lang).

That's why the average user thinks the whites of a calibrated TV look too yellow.

Ang vivid mode kasi, ang setting ng white ay bluish, in order to make the whites seem brighter.  The TV shoppers are impressed with the searing bright whites on the showroom floor, that's why the marketing department of the different brands prefer to demo a cooler color temperature.

Buy from Anson's Makati.  Garantisadong brand new.

Mahirap nang humanap ng bago niyan.  Sa SM Appliance, all branches in Metro Manila, garantisadong display unit...  :D

Yung luma ko binenta ko agad.  Natakot kasi ako, baka wala nang abutan na new stock.

Do you guys experience your units going on a screen saver when watching?  Screen goes blank and a small samsung logo appears which goes around the screen.  Happened to me alot of times while watching on zoom mode during break-in process.

Uy, nakabili na!  Congrats, sir!

==================================

Magandang sync test yung home-made clip ni EditorSean: http://editorsean.com/blog/49-audiovideosynctest

I use his AV alignment test on portable USB hard disc and WDTV player.

Disadvantage ay 25fps frame rate only.

Sure! Big downside sa LG OLED is it's only 55inches. Di ko masyadong type the curved one while the flat one has good built-in HK speakers.
I'm more inclined to get the 64f8500 since it's bigger and will be putting it sa basement HT room that's dark most of the time. Price i saw sa cash and carry online seller is 155k

Thanks!

The real downside of OLED is that it's prone to dead/stuck pixels.

Many OLED panels have dead/stuck pixels right out of the factory, which is why OLED panel yield is so low.  This high production wastage contributes to the high price.

Even after a unit is completely assembled without dead/stuck pixels, the TV is still likely to have dead/stuck pixels by the time it reaches the end-user.

The problem with OLED is that it is still not a mature technology.

Aside form dead/stuck pixels, blue subpixel still has a short lifespan  problem, which is why LG uses 4 white subpixels under a WRGB filter, claiming that this method solves the blue lifespan issue.

But still, their white subpixels are produced from compressed red, green and blue OLED layers, so the blue OLED problem is still there.  How long will the blue layer last?  We can't rely on LG to give an honest answer, that's for sure.

BTW, I've seen an LG on display, and it really has a stunning picture.  However, I noticed that it has a slight color shift when viewed from an angle.  View it from the side and you will notice the whites shift slightly yellowish.

Thanks for the explanation.
There's slight color shift nga and the glass is really glossy & reflective! The long fluorescent light of Anson's ortigas that's reflected on the screen was irregularly shaped too, meaning the surface is not smoothly curved. Flat is still better for me

At OLED's prices, you'd think an LG OLED would easily win any TV shootout.

But at the June 2014 TV shootout by Crampton & Moore, the best TV was Panny Plasma 60ZT65, beating the LG OLED, 10 votes to 7 (Sammy F8500 was not a participant).

http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/result-201406013793.htm

Makes you think twice about spending that much on OLED, when it can't even beat a ZT65.

How many remotes did you guys get?  I only got the smart remote.

I got only 1 smart remote.

I checked the Samsung Philippines website --- it says only 1 smart remote is included.  I asked the seller (Ansons) if they can get an IR remote for me, but they said I had to ask the service center.

The service center said no extra IR remote is included in the Philippines for the F8500.  I asked if I could buy an original AA59-00637A remote from them.  They said they can't order that model for me because it's not officially registered on the Samsung Phils. parts list.

But they offered an original AA59-00641A remote, which looks very similar to the one I want:

The buttons I need are: Smart Hub, 3D, and Camera.  They're all there, so I ordered it.  P1,200.00 lang.

I'll post about correct compatibility as soon as I receive it.

I just got the remote today.  All buttons working.  Remote is 100% compatible.

Yes, it's backlit.  Pero madilim naman ang backlight, not too useful.

In a bright room, no backlight is visible at all.  In a dim room, the backlight is so faint that it's barely visible.  In a dark room, backlight is visible, but still not bright enough for the button labels to be comfortably readable, so it's really not that useful.

Before updating, disconnect all HDMI plugs, but be gentle and make sure you don't damage the TV's HDMI ports when pulling out the HDMI plugs.

After updating, reconnect all HDMI plugs, then reset to factory settings:  Support > Self Diagnosis > Reset

Disconnection of HDMI plugs is not a requirement; it's just a precaution.  Factory reset is not a requirement either, but it solves firmware update glitches, if any.

Warning: once the firmware is updated, it cannot be rolled back to a previous version.
