29 years ago I bought a pair of Acoustic Research AR925's, they gave me many years of pleasure till the
foam suspension rotted - great bottom end. 

Most old or vintage speakers suffers that inevitable issue, foam rot.

A few years ago when I was just starting to put up my own audio setup I met a guy from the other site, he posted an ad for a printer to which I inquired. Eventually I picked up the unit, this guy is in his 50's and surprisingly he is into audio also. While having a little chat he told me he has a very simple setup, a Marantz 2252b paired it with a JBL 4430. I asked him if he's selling them, he answered yes, 20k for speakers alone and 15k for the marantz. If only I had enough money then I could have bought the speakers, sayang...

After browsing this thread I connected an Infinity RS4001 to my system last night... it has been a long while since I included the speaker in the rotation and YES... vintage speakers do really have a sound signature that is very relaxing and captivating.
