70v/100v Speaker System
« on: Aug 19, 2014 at 10:37 AM »
Hello,

Would like to know more about this kind of speaker system. Can you enlighten me the pros and cons of this system.

I would like to upgrade the speaker system sa church namin ang gamit ay 100v system with a 100v sakura  PA500 amplifier, 8 speakers, 4 channel mixer and 31band equalizer.

In terms of budget, maliit lang budget kasi maliit pa yung community.

As of now ang nabasa ko na advantage ng 70v speaker system ay matipid sa wire.

Thanks

yes, you can design that system, a 70.7 volt system
can be run even using telephone wires to feed the speakers....
in order to design the transformers , you need to know how many
speakers are going to connect to your system...
at the very least you need to consider how many speakers
will be connected, what is the wattage rating of the speakers...
you will need a main distribution matching transformer
to convert that 8 ohm output of your amp to 70.7 volts,
then each speaker will have its own transformer
to convert the 70.7 volts back to 8 ohms...
very simple really...

Thanks sir tony for the response,
