cd rip question
« on: Aug 22, 2014 at 05:56 PM »
Mods, I really dont know where to post this question, please move if necessary.

So here it goes: my NAD cdp recently stops working, so I have no choice but to rip my favorite cd's into my old hp notebook which now serves as my music player via Foobar2k going thru my NOS dac to the amp.

This may seem a stupid question, but i badly need your answer.

I had ripped more than 15 xrcds that are pressed in japan, since title are written in japanese codex it cannot be recognized by foobar2k, instead it reflects lots of question marks. So I replaced the title of each track to its english title translation after it is ripped. I renamed the folder and all the tracks, but the big question is why foobar2k still reflects question marks instead of reflecting the renamed title?  Its annoying not to see the title of the song I am playing, is there a way for fb2k to recognize the new file name/ track title?

Thanks in advance!!!

Bro, audio files like MP3 has ID3 tags contained inside the file that include details like album, artist, genre, etc. I once ripped a CD 15 years ago and the tool I used has an option to update the ID3 tags too.

Most probably, the tool you're using has an option to update the ID3 tags of each file -- you just need to find it somewhere in the tool.

wav format ba ang mga files mo sir? I know walang tagging ata ang wav..pero not sure on this..madami ok na software to use for ripping..foobar with eac plugin ata good na for ripping flacs..mostly flacs files ko for lossless..wav lossless kasi masyado malaki kinakain na space

Sir in the process on ripping my cd's too, gamit ko ngayon foobar2k na mismo.

4. select rip now using existing presets

Yan lang gawa ko, I use flac ok naman.

Need pala neton encoders if wala pa

Had the same issues with my Japanese and German CDs.
Once cued into foobar, you can actually highlight the file name -> right click Properties -> metadata -> and change all the information you want from there. It is retained the next time you use foobar.

once it was loaded in foobar, highlights all the titles (foreign titles) and right click then down to tagging - get tags from freedb
