Author Topic: Anyone who owns a Toshiba 55L2400? Need some feedback (Read 22548 times)

I'm planning to get this unit however I had a bad experience with their 46" LCD TV I bought about two years ago. After 1 year and a half it became a huge paperweight. The warranty it had was for a year only.

However, given that Toshiba has now 2 year warranty, I'm willing to give it another shot.
One annoying issue that I had with my former Tosh unit was the cable channels gets messed up. I had to manually configure the channels.Another one was the slow response of the tv when switching channels. Has Tosh fixed these issues? Any owners of Toshiba 55L2400?

I'm choosing between this 55" Tosh model, a 50" Philips and Samsung 51H5000(plasma).

For me, mas matibay ang tosh kasi brother ko and ung friend ko lagpas 5 yrs na ung kanila wala pa ring issue. Di nga lang ganun kaganda ung PQ. Pero ano pipiliin mo PQ or durablity?

Toshiba on-axis picture quality has improved significantly since they moved to another LCD supplier. Their new image engine is also better in terms of color rendition.

Medyo may issues lang yung lower models with motion resolution (medyo mas visible ang ghosting) because their "ClearScan" technology isn't as effective as more sophisticated implementations from competing brands.

Kasama ba yung 55L2300 sa ghosting sir?Nabigyan kasi ako ng magandang price kaya tempting. I'll just buy a HDMI switcher to address the single HDMI port nitong model.

Yes. Check the picture first if it's fine with you, especially if you intend to game with this TV. Kung di ka naman bothered, then you should be okay.

If you're not sensitive to black trailing, you should be fine. The image below (right side) is what's common with recent Toshiba TVs:

Sony and Samsung TVs also exhibit this, but processing compensates for it somewhat (making less visible... kind of like the left image).

Owner of a Toshiba sir but the 22 inch model. Regarding the channel setup... Ok naman... as far as lag in channel change... Yes still there.

I read in its online owner's manual that it's rated at 202W Power Consumption. Isn't this pretty high for a LED TV? (I believe its 47 version is at 101W).

Saw this(55" version) at Abensons Glorietta yesterday and all I can say is that picture is very good(to my untrain eyes

). I think this a good alternative to Samsung's 51" H5000 plasma. Eyeing on this since the latter availability seems to be no more

Check closely ang unit when you buy. A friend got the 50-inch variant and after two weeks nagkaroon ng light spot sa isang side/corner of the screen (uniformity issue).

Medyo mahirap makita to sa brightly lit appliance stores.

got mine last sunday. ok to brod sulit. 2 years warranty. mganda ung game mode nya for console games, ung sharpness and ganda ng color panalo. sulit ung 55" @ 36k. na purchased ko sa abensons fairview. 60hz refresh rate nga lng pala to. panalo din ung speaker nung tv.
