Inevitable ang improvement ni Slaughter under Tim Cone ...... one just needs to look at Hawkins, Thoss, Juinio, Pingris, Sangalang, etc.

As for Japeth, tweeners (height of a center, but plays like a small forward) like him usually has no place in a Tim Cone system ...... Japeth cant make his own shot, he doesn't have a back to the basket game, he has a shaky jumper & he cant bring the ball down court - the only thing he does well on offense, is a decent drop step which needs to be setup properly by the PG.

The only way that Japeth thrives under Tim Cone is if he improves his jumper and gets a semblance of a post-game ...... something which tweeners like him, find it difficult to do.

I'm 99% certain that Tim Cone will not hesitate do a straight-up trade (via farm team conduit, of course) to get someone like Ian Sangalang, in exchange for Japeth.

Tim Cone and LA Tenorio will be reunited. LA actually thrived under the triangle offense of Cone. Let's see if they will be able to replicate their previous success.

kung ma trade man si japeth i believe it will not because of his lack of offensive moves.it will be based on his willingness to learn the system and if he can play good defense.cone values defensive players so much more than the players offense.when cone came to purefoods i was almost sure pingris will be traded, pingris has no back to the basket move then,no outside shooting and cant create his own shots.but because of his defense and hustle he became a very important piece in cone's system.buti pa nga si japeth merong outside shot.pero nakaka excite talaga kung sino sino ma ttrade sa ginebra,si tenorio tingin ko isa sa ma tetrade medyo may edad na sya and cone likes young point guard na madling matuto.kinakabahan na tuloy fans nila caguiao and helterbrand, hehe

paano na kaya si Frankie Lim

Frankie Lim was booted out allegedly because of his involvement with Calvin Abueva during game 2 of their Q'finals series with Alaska. He will be on "floating" status...whatever that means.

Grabe makasaira nang PBA coaching career itong GINEBRA ....... look at the number of coaches they had the past few conferences e.g. Frankie Lim, Jeff Cariaso, Ato Agustin, Al Chua, Juno Sauler, etc.

Si Al Chua naman sir hindi talaga tinaggal. IIRC, "nagtampo" si Chua. i just forgot why.

si tenorio tingin ko isa sa ma tetrade medyo may edad na sya and cone likes young point guard na madling matuto.kinakabahan na tuloy fans nila caguiao and helterbrand, hehe

i don't think cone will trade tenorio. he knows the triangle more than anyone else on the ginebra line-up. caguioa and helterbrand, i don't think they will be traded, too. they are  "the untouchables" as far as the ginebra team is concerned. look at the team right now, they are the only remnants of the 2008 championship team. despite the injuries and the so-so performance, they are still there.

hanep ang sanmiguel, ikot ng tao para lahat makopo ngayon naman ikot ng coach, kung merong corrupt na politico, dito naman corrupt na sistema nag pag papatakbo ng team

agree. Yes, i am a Ginebra fan. but i honestly do like the way SMC is running not just their teams (legit and farm), but the league as a whole.

walang untouchable kay tim cone abbarientos, duremdes, cortez ,etc got traded kahit me ibubuga pa naman.sila lastimosa and duremdes na nagsabi nyan, hindi hihintayin ni cone na tumanda ang isang player.i tetetrade nya ito hanggat may value pa lalo na kung me makikita syang youger talent na puedeng i develop.

Jason Webb to replace Tim Cone.

Hehe, naunahan pa ni Webb maging head coach sa PBA ang isang higit na mas matagal na assistant ni Cone - arguably, the greatest PG ever seen in the PBA, Johnny Abarrientos.

Not to take away anything from Webb, he had a half-decent PBA career and was probably the best TV commentator the PBA had ...... makes excellent basketball analysis.

But Johnny A. deserves his shot as well - the guy even gave up a playing slot with ALASKA to achieve his dream to play one more conference ..... just so he wont lose his slot as PUREFOODS assistant.

It just goes to show that speaking English well can take you places in the corporate world ....... look at Ryan Gregorio, very eloquent but got hired for mediocre PBA coaching stints.

Hope Webb does well ..... Johnny A. gets his own team someday.

Jimmy Alapag to come out of retirement, will be traded to Meralco in three-team deal, says Blackwater owner Dioceldo Sy
http://www.interaksyon.com/interaktv/jimmy-alapag-to-come-out-of-retirement-will-be-traded-to-meralco-in-three-team-deal-says-blackwater-owner-dioceldo-sy

First came the buzz that Jimmy Alapag might be on the comeback trail with the Philippine national men’s basketball team after the retired former captain suited alongside the Gilas Pilipinas pool in training.

Now, the ‘Mighty Mouse’ may be making his comeback for real, this time in the PBA.

Blackwater owner Dioceldo Sy told InterAksyon.com in an exclusive interview late Thursday that Alapag will be coming out of retirement and will be a part of a series of trades involving sister teams Talk ‘N Text and Meralco as well as Sy’s own squad.

According to Sy, Alapag will be traded to Blackwater in a one-on-one deal for Larry Rodriguez before the veteran point guard is shipped off to Meralco in exchange for Mike Cortez and James Sena.

“It’s now in the Office of the Commissioner,” Sy said.

Speculation about a comeback sparked the moment Alapag put on a Gilas jersey and joined the workouts out of the national pool selected by coach Tab Baldwin.

The veteran international coach made it clear that Alapag is not part of the pool, although he isn’t closing the door on the player’s possible return.

“Hunger may develop in that guy where he’s gonna demand a spot in this team and if that develops, it would be interesting,” Baldwin said. “If he just continues to say to me, ‘Coach if you need me, call on me.’ That would be fine.”

“If all of a sudden I see that twinkle in his eyes, there might be some fireworks and it’s worth watching.”

GlobalPort trading to get Fortuna from SMB, Pena from Ginebra in exchange for Ponferrada
GLOBALPORT looked bent on forming a consistent playoff contender for the coming PBA season.
Just a few months after acquiring high-scoring guard Joseph Yeo, the Mikee Romero-owned franchise is again putting in more building blocks in a bid to improve on its best-ever Top 4 finish in the last Governors' Cup eliminations.

A shallow draft without Parks, Ravena, etc ....... only Tautuaa seems like the sure thing.

Of course, draftees like Rosario, Lanete & Vosotros will probably make an impact, since they will be playing for doormat teams.

A minor surprise is scorer Roi Sumang falling all the way into the 3rd round - kapag si Yeng Guiao na ang nag-pass sayo (twice), malamang sa malamang, may problema nga sa attitude ang bata.

Actually, majority of this year's top picks belonged to the MVP teams (TnT, MERALCO & NLEX) ....... as for next year, SMCorp naman ang mga merong top picks.

Sumang was drafted by GLOBALPORT - who already has Pringle, Romeo & Yeo as their combo guards.

Kailangan yata tig isang bola ang mga yan para masaya lahat.  ;D

Seriosuly, sana sa BLACKWATER or KIA man lang siya napunta para magamit nang todo.

Talk N Text acquired second pick Troy Rosario in a three-team, five-player trade that got the approval of PBA commissioner Chito Narvasa Tuesday.

The Tropang Texters acquired the 6-6 Rosario from Mahindra (formerly Kia) in exchange for sophomore guard Kevin Alas and veteran forward Rob Reyes.

Mahindra then sent Alas to NLEX, which gave up shooters Nino Canaleta and Aldrech Ramos in return.

Barako Bull also worked its roster, acquiring guards Josh Urbiztondo, Eman Monfort and Jens Knuttel from Barangay Ginebra San Miguel in exchange for Nico Salva and Barako’s 2016 first round pick.

Later in the day, the Energy took Jeric Fortuna from San Miguel in exchange for Brian Heruela.
