Originally scheduled to drop between the two halves of Avengers: Infinity War, the Inhumans movie has been removed from the official list of Marvel movies and is currently in limbo.

In early April, Kevin Feige, who oversees the films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, said that "Since we made our initial phase three announcement, we added Spider-Man, which was a big joyous coup for us. We added Ant-Man and the Wasp, which was a big fun continuation of that story for us. Walt Disney Company has announced an Indiana Jones film for right around that same time. So the Inhumans will shuffle off the current date that it’s on right now. How far down it shuffles, I’m not sure yet."

Weeks later, the film was dropped from all Marvel press announcements, fueling previous rumors that the Inhumans will be a TV-only IP, as reception to the ongoing Inhumans storyline in Agents of SHIELD was dismal, and ratings for the show continue to drop.

Furthermore, the disparity between the TV shows and the MCU was effectively confirmed when the writers for Captain America: Civil War were interviewed and they had no idea what was happening in the TV shows. And in an earlier interview with Clark Gregg, who plays Agent Coulson in the TV show, he casually implied that whatever the Inhumans movie will be about, it might not even tie in with their show's storylines at all. So the Inhumans isn't happening anytime soon, at least until after 2019.

Roel Reiné Set as Inhumans Director

Marvel has found their first Inhumans director today as The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Roel Reiné is set to helm the two-part pilot. Produced in conjunction with ABC Studios and filmed entirely with IMAX digital cameras, the pilot will run worldwide exclusively in IMAX for two weeks at the beginning of September 2017. ABC plans to then premiere the weekly series this fall, offering additional exclusive content that can only be seen on the network.

It was recently revealed that Marvel’s Iron Fist showrunner Scott Buck has been tapped to serve as the Inhumans showrunner. Reiné, meanwhile, is best known for his direct-to-home video sequel fare with films like Death Race 2, Death Race 3: Inferno and The Man with the Iron Fists 2. He’s also known for his Dutch work, including the acclaimed features The Delivery and Admiral. Recently, Roel Reiné directed an episode of Black Sails that is set to air next month as part of the STARZ series’s final season.

Marvel’s Inhumans Series Casts Anson Mount as Black Bolt

Hell on Wheels star Anson Mount has landed the lead role of Black Bolt in the Marvel’s Inhumans series. Marvel’s Inhumans will explore the never-before-told epic adventure of the royal family including Black Bolt, the enigmatic, commanding King of the Inhumans, with a voice so powerful that the slightest whisper can destroy a city.

It was previously announced that a version of the first two episodes of the new ABC series will premiere exclusively in IMAX theatres for a two-week window in September 2017, prior to the 8-episode network run.

Marvel’s Inhumans were first introduced in Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1965. Since that time, they have grown in prominence and become some of the most popular and iconic characters in the Marvel Universe.

“Anson loves the challenge of playing a character who will only communicate silently,” said Jeph Loeb, Head of Marvel Television and Executive Producer. “His enthusiasm mixed with his imposing almost regal persona made it easy to see why he is our Black Bolt.”

Added executive producer and showrunner Scott Buck, “Black Bolt is a character whose deep complexity must be conveyed without uttering a single word, and I’m very excited to have Anson on board to bring him to life.”

Ken Leung Joins Marvel’s Inhumans as Karnak

Marvel Entertainment has announced yet another cast member for the upcoming Marvel’s Inhumans with the addition of Ken Leung (The Night Shift, Lost) as Minister Karnak! Karnak’s special ability is to see the fault in all things, such as people, plans, buildings, or anything else, but what makes him different from other Inhumans is he was never exposed to the Terrigen Mists that grant them their powers. He works as the chief strategist for King Black Bolt.

“Ken brings both a wisdom and a power to the role that no one else could match. His Karnak will be awesome,” executive producer Jeph Loeb said.

Showrunner Scott Buck adds: “Ken Leung has a great natural intelligence that reads clearly and will add depth and complexity to the very complicated character of Karnak.”

Five More Join Marvel’s Inhumans Cast

Marvel Entertainment has announced the remainder of the Marvel’s Inhumans cast with the addition of the remaining key roles for their upcoming series. Those added to the cast include:

Eme Ikwuakor (Concussion, Extant) as Gorgon – Cousin of Black Bolt, member of the Royal family, and leader of Attilan’s military. With super strong legs, complete with hooves, he can generate destructive seismic waves with a single stomp. The yin to his cousin Karnak’s yang, Gorgon would rather fight than talk to solve his problems.

Isabelle Cornish (Australia Day, Puberty Blues) as Crystal – Medusa’s sister, Crystal is the youngest member of the royal family and has the ability to control the elements. Impetuous and independent she is also deeply devoted to her family.

Mike Moh (Empire, Street Fighter: Assasin’s Fist) as Triton – Black Bolt’s cousin, he’s calm under pressure and supremely athletic. His gift is his fish-like ability to live underwater.

Sonya Balmores (Beyond the Break, Soul Surfer) as Auran – Head of the Royal Guards on Attilan, a capable and no-nonsense woman. She is fiercely loyal to the King of Attilan.

Ellen Woglom (Californication, Outlaw) as an unnamed character – smart, intense, and focused—so focused that oftentimes, social skills take a back seat. Her job at a private aerospace company is her life, second only to her passion for all things space and lunar. She’s primed to be swept up in an adventure.

Finally, Marvel revealed that the fan favorite Lockjaw, Crystal’s 2,000 lb canine companion with the ability to teleport, will appear in the series.

“We’re thrilled with this cast. Eme, Isabelle, Mike, Sonya, and Ellen round out an incredible array of talent that will finally bring the Royal Family of the Inhumans to IMAX and ABC,” said Executive Producer Jeph Loeb.

“With Eme, Isabelle, Mike, Sonya, and Ellen portraying the rest of our leading roles, we have a strong cast that is going to add tremendous depth to our Royal Family,” added Executive producer and showrunner, Scott Buck.

^^this looks so bad they might as well turn it into a comedy.  ;D

Actor who plays Black Bolt looks like he's suffering from indigestion, and why do the rest of the Inhuman populace look like homeless people? Only Lockjaw looks good, but his special effect probably ate up the entire budget... IMAX version will probably be loaded with CGI effects, then episode 3, practical effects na lang, and they'll probably shave off Medusa's head, LOL
