Topic: TCL 55E5690 (4k UHD) or Devant 55CB520?

Currently using a Samsung Series 4 Plasma TV (43) and want to upgrade to something bigger and hopefully, equally durable flatscreen. I'm being convinced to buy a Devant 55' but the TCL 4k seems to be an equally good option.

Any thoughts? My primary considerations are price, durability (panel life in x years), as well as picture quality.

if you want durability you may consider toshiba 55LV400 for 36k it's pq is not bad at all

nagkaroon ng bonus ngayon ang devant... kasi... may builtin digital antenna tv nila.. di ko sure ha.. pero baka magamit na ngayon?

sadly devant + durability.. parang di magkatugma.. hehe

Movie Junkie same tayo ng dilemma, gusto ko rin sana yung Devant kaya lang some issues reg durability

I've seen the TCL 4K. PQ looks good, though a bit on the bluish side. probably needs calibration.


what's your budget for a TV? I think I'd stay with mainstream tv brands.

my in laws bought 2 TCL's 2 years ago.now they are all paper weights. one of those two conked out after a year. My first plasma which is a Panasonic 42PV70 is still flawlessly pumping out cinematic images. its already 8 years old.

agree with the 55L24 of Toshiba. Budget yes but performance is way beyond its price. What made me trust this brand is the fact that I had a Toshiba CRT that still functions to this day (16 Yrs old) and a 32 LCD also from the same brand that is going on 5 years in service. its used daily by my daughter as a PC monitor and TV so it has already logged a lot of hours.

if the price is close just get the branded ones. My 10 cents

if you want durability you may consider toshiba 55LV400 for 36k it's pq is not bad at all

+1 on this if you only want just basic big TV or might want to look at sharp 60" sells at P58+k

If your not into the 3d thing i suggest go for a 60 na sharp or lg for arnd 60k or less its big and reputable but if you want the 3d thing and 4k reso im leaning towards the tcl kasi because of the following

They make there own panels
it has more features and better remote

I too habe this dilemna but tcl was taken out since i need a bigger display so im leaning towards a devent 4k or an lg 3d smart tv

any review on the quality of tcl55e5690 im planning to get this, kasi 4k 3d at may smart features, natakot lang ako sa quality nila.  my other option is to go with lg 50LB6500  tcl 55" is 49k pesos lg 50" is 47k pesos.. sana may maka pag post na nag nakabili at naka review salamat.

yap ang problem with other company, walana chance ma upgrade yun firmware ng mga 4k tvs nila,unlike sony, samsung and lg, it helps a lot in some calibration sa pq at smart apps nila, just like sa review sa LG 49UB850T, nun una labas di ganun kaganda yun 4k review sa kanya, after ilang months lg updated its firmware. then somehow the reviewer change his opinion on the tv... yes i will go with the branded one tnx guys.  still looking for the great price for LG 55LB6500, may nakakuha daw ng 51k pesos dito casway back sept 2014, now bumalik sa dating price na 84k to 61k plus... sana may mag post ng ganitong sales ulit. finger cross.lol
