where can I buy a good FM tuner locally?
« on: Dec 06, 2014 at 05:29 PM »
I'm looking for a dedicated fm tuner since a smartphone's built-in tuner doesn't have a very good reception.

something like the NAD C427 or Yamaha T-S500BL

Use your receiver zone 2 capability kung meron, playing your receivers fm tuner to your zone 2 which is your audio setup. Use ipad or android to remote the fm kung may capability yung receiver mo to do that... Suggestion lang yan bro..

I was at the same dillema before.. Ended up buying the marantz since may tuner na sya..

i was in the same dilema a couple of months back.  did the same round of canvassing and the common responses I got were 3 months waiting and price is around P 17K to P 20K, ouch!

i ended up with a P 3K Sakura, medyo off sa mga gears ko but okay lang, 104.3 and 105.1 sounds good. medyo retro ang dating ng tunog, he he he he...

 :)

dave, last month i was invited by a friend to listen to his onkyo t4555 tuner. im not that interested in DAB or SIRIUS and the likes, what i want to hear eh yung FM nya with an external ant with a 75ohms coax. ang ganda ng tunog compared to what ive heard before sa mga fm receivers until ive got a hand on a kenwood 9400 vintage stereo receiver. dinala ko sa kanya and he tested it side by side with his thing and he is just shaking his head  >:D >:D and he is now a believer that new production audio equipments are not always better than vintage ones......how much more if yung mga TOTL vintage marantz na may ocilliscope(mahal nga lang) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

interesting. though target ko lang sa Onkyo tuner range is yung T-4355. it might just be worth the extra cost over cheaper tuners. :D

I have bunch of tuners in my shelves mostly technics which is very common in the used market. Had Denon but suddenly it lost power (posted in my gallery). Have 2 marantz vintage, in my observation one model has  better signal reception than the other. Parts used still dictates the SQ  of the component.
