then pag deliver check mo na kaharap sila kung used or not

They called already ang they are saying i have to pay 5k since the price given to me was for clear out price. If i wasnt willing to pay it will be charged to the salesperson sabi ko i will not pay a single cent for it below cost na daw kasi price

I told them ansons is giving it to me for p500 less so how can it be below cost

Isang malaking kalokohan they will call back i threatened already to escalate to both LG and DTI on this

If bukas hindi pa clear ang sagot, you can still negotiate with them habang nag-fileka ng complain sa DTI. You can still simultaneously resolve the issue naman maski na may case sa DTI.

You are correct. Tsk tsk. If it's accidental kasi na demo unit ang naibigay nila, pinalitan na nila agad. Thing is, they really know that it is a demo unit without informing the buyer.

From small sari-sari store, eatery, fast foods at supermarkets padlock agad yan pag meron nakuha expired items sa shelves during surprise inspection or any valid complain from customer.

I agree with others suggestion to pursue your complain sa DTI kahit na settle na yan for their record, if more complains come meron sila strong evidences to file case against the store.

Sir simon, maganda seguro you start a thread how to check this function. Also those who owns other brand with this feature for other members awareness...

If it's in users manual we should be familiar to monitor our usage.. Most of the time we are interested only on unit's operation and other functions when trouble arises or by curiosity.

Well happy ending rin pala after all my new tv will get delivered on saturday free of charge. A friend of mine knows the owner and sent my complaint letter wala pang 30 mins tumatawag na agad yung manager ng branch apologizing and saying na okay na lahat

But seriously i will try to make a thread about things to check when buying a new tv

Glad to hear that. Really really a bummer considering that I also purchased a 42 inch LG smart TV last July and when i checked the hours used, its only 646 hours compared to your 2050 hours. So that's only 27 days (almost one month) used computed at 24hours/day running time pa.

Anyway happy ending naman so I hope you finally get to enjoy your new TV once it arrives to your home.

Oh no no no. Di naman ako naloko. I purchased my TV 0 hours.

If it's me, i will get a refund and file a case with dti. Buy from ansons. Set a sample. Afaik you have a case for refund. We don't know who is involved, baka nga alam ng manager or lg because not everybody knows how to check the used time. Kung lusot di ok, kaya sana samplehan mo. Well that's what i would do. We really have a weak consumer protection here kaya sa phils. As i said before, puro palakasan, hayaan na and what is more convenient and fast for us kasi they do everything to make things hard for you.

+1 kung may time.

palagay ko all of them except the consumers are aware. kumbaga, bahala na basta mabenta sa di luging halaga.

question: LG lang ba ang meron way para malaman ilang hours na nagamit ang tv? how about other brands?

For Samsung plasma TVs, the mains running time (MRT) can be accessed using the remote by pressing mute, 7, 3, 7, enter.

For my TV:

Access the service menu by turning the TV off first. Press enter, followed by sub option, enter. The panel display time can be seen from there.

On topic: Can we blame Abenson's or the attending salesman for not disclosing that the TV was a display unit? We can't do so, at least not until the Consumer Act is strictly enforced. Kung tutuusin, sakop naman ang misrepresentation sa RA7394, as explained in the DTI website:

Quote
Most important in the art of sales talk is not to misrepresent the product or service just so the consumer would buy it. Sales talk serves to inform consumers that the product or service addresses a certain consumer need, therefore it is a given that sales talk highlights the good qualities of the goods being sold. Still, trickery and deception should never be a part of the sales pitch.

The Consumer Act protects consumers against deceptive sales practices. A deceptive sales act or practice is defined as an act on the part of the seller that induces a consumer to enter into a sales or lease transaction of any consumer product or service through concealment, false representation or fraudulent manipulation.

What does concealment, false representation, or fraudulent manipulation mean? The law cites several examples such as the following: (I have intentionally deleted some of the items which are not relevant):

    > A consumer product or service is of a particular standard, quality, grade, style  or model when in fact it is not.
    > A consumer product is new, original or unused, when in fact, it is in a deteriorated,  altered, reconditioned, reclaimed or second-hand state.
    > A specific price advantage of a consumer product exists when in fact it does not.
    > The sales act or practice involves or does not involve a warranty, a disclaimer of warranties, particular warranty terms or other rights, remedies or obligations if the indication is false.

It is government policy to promote and encourage fair, honest, and equitable relations among parties - the seller and the buyer - in consumer transactions. Retailers are encouraged to promote transparency to consumers among their ranks. All information about a product or service, especially those that concern pricing and quality, should be disclosed to the consumer.

It seems the business establishments are not keen on observing the Consumer Act. Is it because they are not aware of the provisions of this law, or they know that most of the consumers are not aware themselves or simply, this law has no teeth at all?  :(

^ I disagree, you can blame abenson's, the manager and the salesman. This is an obvious scam. Dapat ma investigate ng abenson yan. Also should be investigated by lg. Being a manager how can you have display units being sold as new units. That's plain hogwash, unless its a warehouse problem that has no supervision. Or an lg scam, where you order from lg tapos used pala ang item.

We can blame but can't accuse. There should be an investigation. This may be a practice of these appliance stores, diba parang nangyari sa plasma ni sir barrister, sa sm yata? I have to back read sa plasma thread. I'm not sure.

In an honest business practice, all display units should not be sold as brand new. Unless, it's the last piece in the stock that the buyer aware of its condition and agreed to take it.

another conspiracy theory. >:)
baka may nakabili na ng display/demo unit tapos may nag-order ng same model sa warehouse.  tapos isinwap nya yung display/demo unit sa would be buyer assuming na di marunong mag-check ng usage yung buyer.
baka same case lang sa mga celfone shops sa GH na binebenta as bnew yung resealed lang nila ang box pero second hand unit.

Agree sir Anya, indoor home appliances are different from outdoor equipments. You have to test drive outside or on the road to demo the unit.... ;)

I chose the word "blame" with the same context in mind but I think I was misunderstood. I should have used the phrase "...accuse Abenson's or the attending salesman of misrepresentation" instead of the simpler "...blame Abenson's or the attending salesman..." to make the rhetorical question more accurate. It's okay, no harm done ;)
