47" to 55" tv
« on: Dec 16, 2014 at 09:59 PM »

You will be happy for the first few weeks.  After that, parang maliit na naman ang 55.

Sa totoo lang, kahit anong size ang ilagay mo, after the first few weeks, parang maliit na naman.  ;)

On the same note of upsizing, I'm also planning to go from a 42" to 50", sana will max it out to 55" but it's my bedroom kasi, feeling ko baka ma overwhelm naman ako. My rooms big naman, viewing distance from bed to tv stand about 7'. I've been doing the rounds of appliance stores checking the tv's out too, would love to go big. Sometimes it's also hard to keep the size you see on displays in relation to the space it'll be in.

For 55", the best viewing distance is 7ft.

I know, but I've gotten dimensions of a 55" and placed it on my stand, to me it's pretty huge. Gets me wondering if I'm just being too conservative. ;)

a 55" looks big on stands but will look smaller if wall mounted.

Can't wall mount as I have a wood wall. Vic of sns advised against it when I bought my 42" from him. I even wanted an articulating mount pa because I have a weird viewing angle with my bed, so a cabinet/stand it is then. Anyway, I'm re-thinking this again, knew it would happen if I started posting here.

TVs these days are very light. A 55" won't stress the stand too much. :P

Not my stand, it's a long cabinet, a 55" tv will definitely fit the space not problem. It's really just me, undecided.

Get 65" or at least 60" so you can notably see the difference in terms of size.

My tv is wall mounted 42" LG plasma. I've used only a 3/4" thick plywood(4x8ft) + additional 2 pcs of 3/4" cut based on the wall bracket(2x1ft). It's been hanging for more than 3.5 yrs ;D ok nmn sya till now.

In a way I'm glad I stuck to a stand, easier access to the back panel. If your putting this in a bigger space then 60"-65" makes sense. In my situation that's overkill. :-[

Got my 50" tv, glad I went with this size, it's more than enough. I'm enjoying the upsizing immensely.
