zotac zbox vs asus vivopc
« on: Jan 28, 2015 at 03:09 PM »
hi all,

how does the zotac zbox and the asus vivo pc compare as a standalone media player? vs. say, an HTPC built from the ground up?

im basically trying to find a more modern replacement for my aging PCH A300. it's very easy-to-use but it's showing its age.. lots of bugs that it's sometimes irritating already..

my current setup is the ff:

- pch a300, hdmi connected to entry level AV onkyo 5.1 receiver
- win vista laptop serving as hard disk storage and torrent rig

im thinking maybe a single HTPC can replace both.

thanks!

You can build one that would be cheaper and it really depends on your need. If solely for playback and Torrent lang you can start w a Q-1900 mobo+process 4G ram and ssd w a cheap case for a little over 10k
That awkward moment when I'm drunk and you're still ugly.

just build your own. it would be cheaper and you'd have better specs as well.  ;)

are you referring to the product website or a "how to build a pc" website?
