Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead, hasn't been standing still in the wake of that show's tremendous success, and now he's got his next show lined up at Cinemax. The network has placed a 10-episode order forOutcast, an adaptation of this exorcism comic of the same name, with Patrick Fugit (Gone Girl, Almost Famous) starring as a man who has been surrounded by demonic possession his entire life. The series has been in development at Cinemax since 2013, with horror favorite Adam Wingard (The Guest,V/H/S) having directed the pilot.

At SXSW, Cinemax announced that "Outcast" will premiere June 3, 2016 on the premium cable channel -- in addition to revealing their renewal of the series for a second season ahead of its debut.

Shades of Supernatural and Constantine tapos I read that the Exorcist tv series may be coming soon. Could be touch and go.

Outcast Season 2 to Premiere on Cinemax in July

Good news, Outcast fans! The suspense-horror series from The Walking Dead‘s Robert Kirkman finally has an official return date for its second season, which is Friday, July 20 at 10:00 pm ET/PT on Cinemax! Outcast Season 2 continues the journey of Kyle Barnes (Patrick Fugit), who has been seeking answers after being plagued by demons since childhood — but what he uncovers could mean the end of life as we know it.

Outcast will return for a 10-episode second season as the show probes the mystery of what lies behind the town of Rome’s supernatural manifestations, and why they are drawn to Kyle. The series explores how people cope with extreme circumstances while protecting the ones they love.
