Panasonic Plasma TV Repair
« on: Feb 15, 2015 at 09:21 AM »
4 yr old Panasonic Plasma 42" tv just went off.  Certified technician from Pana said it's a busted power supply board.  Estimated cost is around 7-8K.

Do you think its worth the repair?

Anyone knows an alternative and reliable technician that offers home service in Las Pinas?

Thanks!

Nelson De Leon has had this problem more than once (but with LG). I have 2 power boards that need replacing - quote is P66K. Whether or not it is worth it depends on how old the screen is, how much the it cost & your financial position. If you go ahead you need to push for some sort of warranty & if need be contact Panasonic PH to make an arrangement.
Be aware that certified technicians work for company's on Panasonic's behalf & if they are the same as what I have experienced no warranty is given on the parts or repair. Also if the diagnosis is incorrect no refund on the wrong part.

IMO hindi na worth to spend that much. After that may masisira naman na iba part. Might as well save for a new LED.
84" 100" 120" 150" Motorized or Manual Projector Screens still available. Just pm.

Agree, unless high end na Plasma TV yan. With a new TV you get a new warranty at least (2 years normally).

Maybe it's time for a larger screen. 50-55" screens nowadays probably cost less than the original price of your TV.
