The last TV we got was Samsung series 5 32 inch 6 years ago (49k at that time). It's still working fine. We partnered it with mede8er and we are still happy with it. BUT now we have an opportunity to upgrade because we are moving to a new home. We are considering:

LG 55UB820T or
LG 55UB850T

We are getting a good discount at LG since we know someone there. We are actually furnishing our new home with all LG appliances including the aircon and washer/dryer. This is the only reason why we are getting LG - discount.

I am wondering if we will miss out a lot compared to other SMART TV offerings out there. Our requirements are very basic:

1. Stream movies - thinking of getting Apple TV/Roku
2. Play video games - PS4 and Xbox1
3. Netflix
4. Hook up our Mede8er for our old stored content

Hope you can advise us on how to move forward. Needing expert opinions. Thanks in advance!

SRP: 76,997 (can still have some discount if cash in Abenson)

We are having a hard time balancing screen size, cost and feature. Should we go for older model (cheaper) but bigger screen? Thanks @philander!

Always go with Bigger... Normally it's Older but Bigger vs Newer + Smaller + Features

If it's me, size always comes first..

Thanks! Thinking now of getting 65 but not UHD and not 4k... And just get a good third party player like Apple TV.

Saw My View 65 incher at Festival Mall HiFi Lounge selling at 59++. These aren't bundled. Don't no the PQ vs. branded. Not much data on the net.

We got this for 70,990. Last price na daw nila in Avant in Trinoma.

Best 55" right now locally for me is the LG 55eg910t Full HD Oled...
Best 65" naman locally are the Samsung 65js9500 and Sony kd-65x9000c

Sir Louie, ung LG 55 EG910 last week ang price ay 125k,but last Monday anson's cash & carry mall offered me 102k for cash,suddenly I got the lg 55ug8700

Where's the best place to buy a 65" 4K TV now? Best in term of choices and pricing of course. Previously bought all my TV's from Vic at Shang (Sights & Sound) but they've closed I think.

Nakadalawa ako balik sa cash n carry,arkilado pa man din ung van,8k,tapos 1.5k kain,bago nakabili ng tv,pero sulit at nakatipid pa din kung dito ako bumili samin sa SM Lipa or Robinson's Lipa..

Just want to share... For basic cable TV and occasional 1080p movie viewing... The TCL 55" B3700 LED TV is really a good value for money LED TV. we were able to get this unit for our CCTV monitoring system at our office and everybody was shocked when we told them the price of the unit...

From an original SRP35k... it was on a mark down sale to only 23450.... then when we offered to pay cash... we were give additional discount and got the unit for only 22,200. This was at Western marketing in fairview terraces.

Not only did we get a 55" LED panel... we also got a 2+1 year warranty on the unit... plus a free wall mount bracket...

For me... its really good value deal... 22.2k... 3years warranty... 55" LED panel... SULIT TALAGA!!!

im not really sure if its a "one-time / limited offer" of western marketing... the sales person we talked to said that they only had 4 units of the TCL 55" TV and we were able to get last last one ... and its the display model unit left on the floor... after thorough checking for physical defects... we decided to get the last unit... no sure if there are other units in their branches... better check and confirm...

By the way, just want to inform everyone that Sir Vic's shop Sights and Sounds is currently affected by the malls renovation. But he still sells tv's and other stuff in their office at Ortigas. Though no show room. But he does do cash on delivery. Thanks and God bless everyone!
