The Flash/Arrow Spinoff Series Adds a Hawkgirl!

Relative newcomer Ciara Renée, best known for performing in “Big Fish” on Broadway, has joined the cast of The CW’s upcoming (still-untitled) DC Comics team-up series, set in the same continuity as “Arrow” and “The Flash.” According to Deadline, Renée will play the Kendra Saunders version of Hawkgirl!

Created by David S. Goyer, James Robinson and Steve Sadowski, Saunders made her first appearance in 1999’s “JSA Secret Files and Origins” #1. The grandniece of former Hawkgirl Shiera Hall, Saunders took her own life, allowing Hall’s soul to enter her body, retaining Saunders’ memories.

In the “New 52″ continuity, Saunders is Earth 2’s Hawgirl, a professional treasure hunter who has had powerful wings grafted onto her back as the result of a World Army experiments.

Renée joins Brandon Routh, Victor Garber, Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell and Caity Lotz on the new show, which has Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, Marc Guggenheim and Sarah Schechter set to executive produce. Although no official timeline has been revealed, the series is expected to target a mid-season premiere in 2016.

Doctor Who’s Arthur Darvill Joins The Flash/Arrow Spinoff Series

Arthur Darvill, best known for playing former “Doctor Who” companion Rory Williams, appears to have some more time traveling in his future. On the heels of word that Broadway actress Ciara Renée had joined the series as Hawkgirl, The Hollywood Reporter now brings word that Darvill will also be joining the cast of The CW’s upcoming “Arrow” and “The Flash” spinoff as Rip Hunter!

It was previously revealed that Hunter would be one of the show’s featured characters, although he is being officially referred to as “The Traveler”. Described as a “Han Solo-esque rogue who gets by with his charm, this hero hails from the future, and has journeyed back in time on a secret mission. His razor-sharp wit hides the pain of a man who has lived through serious conflict. He also harbors many secrets, always leaving both his teammates and the audience unsure of his true allegiances.”

Created by Jack Miller and Ruben Moreira, Hunter made his comic book debut in 1959’s “Showcase” #20. A time traveler in search of his original timeline, Hunter has fought alongside the likes of Superman and who fought off the Anti-Monitor.

Parang live action Superfriends na 'to, with B-list characters. And it appears that they're still going to add to the cast. Very intriguing. Maybe that Rip Hunter guy - with his time traveling ability - will be the key to bringing Sara back to life. :)

Let's just hope he gets an Ancient Rome episode...so that he can dust off that centurion armour and wear it with pride (cf. The Pandorica Opens/The Big Bang)

Flash/Arrow Spinoff adds to cast

The CW's Flash/Arrow Spinoff has cast English actor Franz Drameh (Edge of Tomorrow) as Jay Jackson, a "former high school athlete whose pro career was derailed by injury. Now making ends meets as an auto mechanic, Jay will come to have a surprising affiliation to the S.T.A.R. Labs crew."

http://variety.com/2015/tv/news/flash-arrow-spinoff-franz-drameh-jay-jackson-1201478479/

Sounds a lot like Cyborg, but seems unlikely with the JL movie and Titans tv series also in the pipeline.

Flash/Arrow Spinoff now officially called "DC's Legends of Tomorrow"

Official synopsis:

When heroes alone are not enough… the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat – one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?

With Rip Hunter being confirmed to be in the show, it's looking more likely that Sara Lance as Black Canary would indeed be back.

^ Yes! I had my doubts about this series, but this looks very promising based on the trailer.

At the 2:09 mark - it's Dr. Wells :)

Palmer will not die...but in LoT, he'd develop the shrinking powers characteristic of The Atom

Yeah, that last part I get.  Sa trailer kasi, tinanong siya, "So you did not die, you just became small..." or something like that, leading me to think na sa Arrow, they might think that he "died".

Yeah, they'll assume he died, which is what forces Felicity and Oliver to come home, since he made her sign that thing that left the company with her, right?

That's my guess.

Yun din naisip ko. Maybe the suit emits an energy field to those touching or immediately close to it and this field protected Ray. Sa comics kasi paghinawakan ka ni Atom....pati ikaw liliit.

Hawkman soars onto DC's Legends of Tomorrow

Falk Hentschel (Transcendence, Reckless) has been cast as Carter Hall/Hawkman in DC's Legends of Tomorrow. Hawkman is described as "the latest reincarnation of an Egyptian Prince who is fated to reincarnate throughout time along with his soulmate, Kendra Saunders (portrayed by Ciara Renee). Like Kendra, Carter can access the powers of the Hawk God, Horus, transforming him into the winged warrior known as Hawkman." Hentschel will first appear in crossover episodes of Arrow and The Flash before moving on to DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow casts Vandal Savage

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow has found its Vandal Savage in Danish actor Casper Crump, who will make his debut as the iconic comicbook villain in crossover episodes of “Arrow” and “The Flash” before continuing the recurring role on the CW’s super-powered spinoff at midseason.

Vandal Savage is immortal, having spent the past 6,000 years moving like a virulent disease through history, whispering in the ears of despots and dictators, all leading to his eventual domination of the world.

Hailing from Denmark, Crump previously appeared in the original Danish version of “The Killing,” known as “Forbrydelsen,” and will next be seen in David Yates’ “Tarzan” adaptation alongside Alexander Skarsgard and Margot Robbie.
