With this sensitivity, new amplifiers should not have problems driving it.

That can easily be driven. Probably best paired with a tube amp.

it just made me worry that i would burn newer model's circuitry as some "Salesmen" Claimed that the specific speaker model was HARD TO DRIVE....

Thanks for the advise :)

I guess he wanted you to buy new speakers from him :)  .... next time ask WHY, a lot of salesmen from non specialist audio stores do not know what their talking about...

Old school speakers always look cool with tubes. :)

with such high sensitivity, even a low powered amp can drive this.

actually, parang ibinilin sa amin yung speakers because there is no space sa nilipatan ng in laws ko. instead na matambak and all that, id rather use it.

here comes my magical question now, i have used it for music before, and it sounds great. i havent tried it with movies yet.

my plan is to use that pair as my fronts. has anyone used the same type of speakers for home theatre?

although i do not have a receiver yet, which ill be getting sometime in august, would you think a pioneer vsx 323k handle it?

even a small bluetooth speaker with good thump can serve as a ht speaker. walang rule of thumb. as long as that sansui sounds better than your built in tv speakers then why not? wag ka lang mag invest around that sansui, meaning-buying unnecessary tools like amps for that old thing. just work with what you have (i'm assuming you already have an amp cuz you say it sounds good with music).
if you really want to set up an ht, 5.1 pa din ang best for home use. start from scratch and just assign the sansui for casual music listening.

Actually, my dad in law had this Harman Kardon AV-xxx, sorry i cant remember, this was sent to him from the US. It also came with pioneer speakers which was enclosed in plastic baffles. so i assumed it was used for HT as well.

Then they decided not to use it until the amp was deemed defective due to roach bites on the internal wiring and some rat pee all over the board (at ako ang naghinayang) and was told that it would be costly to have it repaired. and the front input jacks were played up by my bro in laws kids which is unusable due to the damage. I offered to use it so that it would not end up to what it is right now, but nah.... and here it is the pair of sansuis S930 are with me right now.

so last week i saw a sale down at cash and carry and was offering me this Pioneer vsx 323k for only P6995 which brings me to the question, can this pioneer power it up.

coz i also was offered this 5.0 channel Jamo's at P6995 as well

both gears originally priced at around P30,000 so i thought it was a steal, until i remembered, i had 2 speakers at home.

So i held off the purchase, since i am out of the country and will be back by august.

Now i wonder what to do ......

92db and 8 ohms...specs-wise, the pioneer should do just fine.

Mga ka PDVD

Yung napagtanungan ko actually are kinda specialty shops from makati cnema square, and tey sounded they knew what they were talking about. Pero shempre pumapasok din sa isip ko na shempre they want to make a good sale out of inquisitive customers with lots of questions.

I know some of the shops there know what they are actually doing and some doesn't.

nanghihinayang lang ako sa speakers kesa naman masira ng hindi nagagamit, baka lumutong ang papel at pag napagdesisyunan ko na gamitin biglang mapunit... lol
