UY...Nice thread..dami kong natutunan.. Sir Jojo, Taga valenzuela lang po kayo diba? where did you purchase the compressor? or DIY lang nyo sya? Pwede po ba makuha yung exact model ng Mixer nyo planning to buy po..Kasi right now ang setup ko is X-5 Platinum then yung out nya, I used an RCA splitter on both L/R. 1 pair of L/R RCA goes to my Pioneer reciever and I use the external stereo sa receiver para lahat ng speakers may tunog. Then the other pair of L/R RCA goes to my Sakura 737 amp and dun din nakakabit ang mic ko. what's missing po is yung ganda ng tunog ng mic. I'm planning to get a mixer po and I saw the picture you posted. The big question is pano po ang connection. wala po akong masyadong alam sa ganyan. and I really like to hear the difference nung may compressor and kung ano po ang magagawa nyang benefit sa system. Thanks po in advance sa magiging sagot nyo sa newbie na tulad ko. and if in case po na avail na yung compressor kindly reserve 1 for me.

Hello sir. Yes I'm from the infamous city made popular by the media due to the unfortunate factory fire incident that killed a lot of people. May their souls rest in peace.

I made it "lang" po sir. I've been toying around with these for a long time na. During the VHS and VCD days I use a jfet loaded compressor kasi meron mga scenes halos di ko na madinig ang dialogue pero pag may sumabog na or nagkabarilan na nakakataranta ang tunog so I put on a compressor as a dynamic limiter to my then 2.1 setup.

I believe it's a Phonic AM440D, the D stands for digital yata kasi meron walang D and walang efx. You don't necessarily need to get the same model naman but if you can it's a decent mixer with all the bells and whistles a growing boy needs. ;D

Madali lang yan sir, ang mic at platinum diretso sa mixer tapos yun out ng mixer pasok mo sa 737, yun out ng monitor pasok mo sa receiver. That way wala ka na y-splitter and you can control the amps separately from the mixer.

Valenzuela ka din ba sir?

Goodpm Sirs,

Need your help sana in my videoke set-up. Madalas ako makarinig ng feedback, yung matining na ingay.. so the singer would always need to find a spot para mawala ito. Medyo nabawasan yung feedback when I lessened the echo, pero andun pa rin. Paano kaya mawawala ito?

If it would help, my gears are just Platinum T40, Sakura 502 and HDT microphones. Thanks in advance!

This is what I use po...

It has a pad which you can use for low/high output mics, although it has phantom power I never use it since puro dynamic mics lang meron ako. There is a British type 3-band eq for the highs/mids/lows, a British type tone eq is a full-cut type eq where you can change the contour of each band or even fully cut it without varying the adjacent band.

There is also a 100-preset voice processor effects which I use instead of the built-in echo in the videoke player. My videoke player is connected as a line input that goes through a dedicated compressor, minsan kasi hindi pantay-pantay ang accompaniment, meron kanta na malakas ang background meron mahina, the compressor takes care of this.

The mixer has a send/return section for outboard effects, I use it to send the mics to a compander (compressor/expander) so that the mics are gated, pag mahina ang boses it compensates, kapag napalakas naman it compresses, so it doesn't make those nasty distortion sound. The blending is adjustable, it's up to you whether you like it wet or dry, the mixer has separate send/return settings for each mic inputs.

This is what I use for that... aside from the compression and expansion I was also able to squeeze in a BBE sonic maximizer inside.

Yun output ng mixer goes to a diy amp and blasts a diy'd MTM floorstander.

Hope this helps.

2 weeks pa lang Sir, used it twice palang. No feedback if totally walang echo, pero kasi mas maganda ang tunog ng videoke na may konting echo. Will try to borrow a friends Shure mic and see what happens. Salamat!

welcome

Minsan din, feedback is caused by strong reflections sa room.

Sa tingin ko feedback is caused when the mic gets or receives the sound coming from the speaker. We have that mic in the office pero mahal at 25k daw.

Ang masarap sa naka mixer you can cut/boost tones of individual mics, meron kasi mic brands na matinis like Shure, Yamaha, etc.

Tama sir, feedback is caused by ambient noise coming from the speakers and is picked up by the mic and amplified again, the whole thing gets worse and worse and worse, it's a form of oscillation.

In the olden days, the cure was to use a 30-band EQ to cut high frequencies that corresponds to the ambient noise that is being picked up by the mic. This is tedious work because the sound tech will have to change settings every time the venue is changed.

Pero now, may feedback destroyer na, digital pa and it seeks and destroys the wannabe feedback signals even before they get through the signal path.

Sir Jojo, I use a Phonic AM240D, almost similar to yours but with only 2 mic sockets. Tanong ko lang kung ano ang usual na ginagamit mong effects for the mics? Sa dami kasi ng effects, nakakalito. I usually use yung No 8 Jazz Club pero kulang sa sibilance. Thanks.

buti na lang may thread na for videoke :) Went through 3 pages and sorted out my plan, need advice mga sir please :)

Goal: To setup indoor videoke setup for family use, utilizing existing gears and buying components at a minimal cost that will deliver mid-range-quality :) To be used by my kids ages 3 and 9 and my wife who have an angelic voice.

What I have so far:
Sakura AV200T (not being used)
A-audio 4" Charisma FS (being used as HT Fronts connected to AVR)
A-Audio Genesis BS Gen1 (not being used)
Pioneer 520 (used as main HT avr)

The Purchase Plan
1. Buy TJ40 (or any suggestion of videoke player of the same price range with better quality and ability to upgrade songs?)
2. Buy Behringer XENYX1002 (or Phonic AM240D?)
3. Buy Mic 2pcs (will go for Trident as suggested by boss JojoD)

Planned setup
1. Use AV200T as the main amp
2. TJ40 video out connected to TV
3. TJ40 audio L/R out connected to Mixer 1002
4. Mic connected to Mixer 1002
5. Mixer 1002 connected to AVT200T
6. AVT200T out to A-Audio Charisma FS

The reason why I choose to buy mixer instead of a new 502a amp is because based on what i read here and my little knowledge about audio e mas may gain ako sa sound quality if I buy mixer instead of amp with mic in.

Any Pro's and con's? With what I have and what I am planning to buy, may mas EFFICIENT ba na setup?

Of course there's a more efficient setup, kaya nga very common yung 502A/5022 amp + huge speakers combo dahil it's so cost effective and efficient. Your planned setup will have ok sound but CONSIDERABLY LESS SPL output. Pang small room lang talaga and you can't push it too hard.

Plate reverb lang po, mild settings lang just to give the vocals to seem to sound from a large hall, liit lang kasi house namin and it does help a lot.

Sarap ng kantahan nun Dec 31 and Jan 1, which also got me trying some ideas and breadboard prototypes.

Most of you guys use your videoke players (platinum, hyundai, kumyoung, etc.) as you mic mixers na diba? I mean, you plug your mics directly to your players and just use the mic vol and echo adjustments?

The reason I ask is I found that there are tracks that are sometimes too loud and some are too weak, but I find that compressing the vocals more beneficial than compressing the mix down itself. Although the latter also provides a "cleaner" overall mix.

I interviewed a couple of guys running a videoke rental business, in their experience the first ones to go talaga are the tweeters, kaya some of their machines daw talaga basag ang tunog.

A lot better sq than my old dvd player tapos may mga new songs din naman sa youtube at libre pa.
