Try using splashpro ex sir, far way better sq & pq than vlc. Ndi yata lossless audio ang vlc, splashpro could output dts hdma and Dolby truehd sa receiver mo.

Ndi sir eh. Here's the link: https://mirillis.com/en/downloads/downloads.html try mo muna ung free trial (30 days), if like mo tsaka mo na bilhin. Sayang naman kasi Onkyo receiver mo pati B&W speakers kong lossy audio signal ibabato mo. PM me if na-install mo na, I'll provide to you the settings.

Sir, wala bang free software na nageencode ng lossless formats? Madami kasing mas maganda kesa sa VLC, but I haven't tried re: lossless media content.

Ganito kasi dapat makikita mo sa receiver if you're using losses audio (bitstream)

Btw, I assumed you're using PCs with videocards or processors capable of bitstreaming DTS-HDMA & Dolby TrueHD and you're connecting to your receivers via HDMI... PM me if you have queries.

Ok din naman ung Media Player Classic HC (MPC-HC), I have used it 5 yrs ago. Mas maraming tweaks gagawin and you need to install other codecs for the DTS HDMA and trueHD to be bit-streamed. I also used Daum Potplayer with H.265 HEVC capability (free din).

However, I find the Splashpro Ex easier to set up lossless audio capability and it has superior video quality than MPC-HC and Daum Potplayer.

I'd have to agree with this one. This is easier to set up...hehe although im still trying to find yong may crack. lol

can the player be set up to play an "intro" file (i.e. Dolby/DTS demo video) before playing the actual movie?

I'm asking this because I've made an intro patterned after 21st century fox.

I've been using mediaportal kasi. I've tried Xbmc once, seems it's not for beginners. He he mediaportal set up kasi mas user-friendly for me.

Anyway, your Xbmc looks good. May option ba yan sir to play a movie poster to display movie info and loop its trailer?

I'm planning to set up kasi a vertical mounted TV outside my ht room where movie info/trailer is being played. I've seen the same set up sa cinemar system where it displays the remaining time of the movie being played, etc. hehe
