Personal preference would be the 80s. But I think the 90s would win.

I like the 00's, but I'd replace AI with Nash or CP3 for a better fit.  And Shaq's prime (99-02) was something else.

I'm also assuming that the rules would be from the 00's (no handchecking, no illegal defense, has a 3 pt line)  :D

the question is how many touches will Shaq have with Kobe and Iverson on the same team?

I'm a big mj fan but a lack of pure shooter is a concern. I think the 80's will win because of the willingness  of both bird and magic to be  team players. plus I think only mj can match the competitiveness of bird and magic

TMZ Report: Lamar Odom found unconscious in Vegas brothel, now fighting for his life  :(

This is just sad. In his age, I think it will be next to impossible to make a come-back.
Never stop learning.

There's a lesson to be learned here for athletes, "never get hooked to a Kardashian!"

I wouldn't be surprised if James Harden will spiral down in the near future, sana hindi naman.

Lamar has been through a lot of unfortunate events. Death of his child, being  held at gun point, getting traded from the Lakers when he wanted to stay and getting married to a Kardashian.

When he was with the Lakers, he was very inconsistent. Some nights he brought it, some nights he didn't. It got to a point na nakakafrustrate because fans knew he had a lot of skills. Unfortunately, his play took a major hit when he was traded as part of that vetoed CP3 to LA deal. Rumors had it that he really took it personally and he never recovered from that mentally. When he was shipped to the Mavs, he was never the same Lamar Odom anymore.

Sayang yung talent nya.

Yeah, that's why I said I would replace AI with Nash or CP3.

As for the 90's team,  I'd switch Barkley with Pippen for a better fit.

A source at the Ranch said Lamar was taking an herbal substitute for Viagra.

Pareho lang ba ng Inner-G, Robust, Enduranz etc? Probably not a good idea to use Viagra subtitutes along with hard drugs.

Hope he's okay.  :(

I think that 60's lineup would dominate.  Chamberlain is the best offensive player ever and Russell, the best defensive player ever, arguably.  Robertson and Baylor have incredibly complete games and then there's Mr. Clutch.  Love Dr. J but this 70's team will probably finish last. What's Kevin McHale doing in there?

I would disagree with the 60s dominating.  They lack the foot speed to keep up with players as well as lateral quickness to keep their defensive assignments in front of them.  While no one would dominate down in the post with Russell and Wilt,  the 80s team have the shooters to compensate and the perimeter game to more than offset their post offense.

As for McHale, talent-wise...he is arguably the best power forward in history. Nobody can guard him in the post and his defense is outstanding. His length and lateral quickness has served him well against more powerful and faster opponents.  Is there a better power forward in the 80s than McHale?

They were just discussing the topic on the top 5 best players of the decade (80's to 2000) on the Open Court show this evening.  Present were Isaiah Thomas, Shaq, Miller, 3D, Grant Hill, Stevens, and two other guys (I forgot).  McHale was not even mentioned on their top 5 - majority voted for Malone as their best power forward, but a couple of them mentioned Barkley.

I believe I saw that same episode.  The Malone that was mentioned was actually Moses Malone not the Mailman.  Reggie picked Moses as his power forward.  Moses was actually a center. Charles Barkley was in Steve Smith's list.  But when Ernie Johnson concentrated on PF, the first name he mentioned was Kevin McHale. So McHale did get a shout out...then after McHale he named Karl Malone.

I'm a big fan of McHale myself, probably the best in the 80's ...... his post moves & pivots should be studied by every post-playing bigman.

Sobrang marunong sa pwestuhan, plus mahusay pang gumamit nang siko.  ;)

However, comparing between the 80's & 90's, I would pick Karl Malone a bit higher than McHale ...... Karl Malone was the complete package - can play the post, can run like a gazelle, can hit those mid-range shots & had decent ball IQ as well.

I pick the 90's, both The Dream & Mailman can shoot mid range shots. Would be a good way to bring out the opponents big out of the block & make life easier for the wings/back court.

I was about to pick the 00's but seeing Kobe & Lebron on the same team made me think twice, it's not gonna work  ;D ;)

Malone was indeed athletically more gifted. I gave the edge to McHale because even without Bird, McHale could still excel.  Malone was always dependent on Stockton to set him up.  Without Stockton, I feel the Mailman wouldn't be able to compete as much.  McHale likewise had a decent mid-range game and FG% wise, arguably better than Malone.  Though Malone had longer/farther range on his jump shot.

Hehe, no fault of Malone that he got teamed up with one of the best PG's to play the game ...... indeed Stockton sets up the Mailman, but the fact that the Mailman runs, gets those passes & gets points (#2 all time) speaks volumes on his abilities ..... Malone got to play a season with another team ('04 LAL) and PhilJax & others acknowledged that Malone's late injury was the biggest blow to them.

In the same vein, McHale played with a team filled with blue-collar stars which showcased his abilities even more.

IMO, Malone by a small margin over McHale, just because he was a better athlete & more versatile.

However, McHale was far more watchable - I miss that golden era where the hits were plenty & the players kept playing.

Malone's edge over McHale is beating the defense off the dribble. Growing up I didn't appreciate the "Stockton-to-Malone" famous line (Bulls fan through and through  ^-^) but seeing their games as an adult, wow! that's basketball chemistry at it's best. I haven't seen a more effective small-big tandem ever since.

not to confuse, in the 80's it was Moses Malone they named, in the 90's Karl Malone was included on their top 5 list ... Moses was quite unstoppable in the power forward position then, and was really good in getting offensive rebounds ... center chosen was Jabbar, other 3 were Bird, Magic, and Jordan

Moses Malone was not a power forward.  He played center for Houston and Philly in the 80s.  Kaya nga humirit si Steve Smith kay Reggie Miller na parang Reggie was cheating because he placed a center in the PF position.
