« on: Jun 19, 2015 at 12:55 PM »
One quick question lang mga sir. Pwede ba ang subwoofer ikabit sa pre-out ng amp? Someone wants to but my velodyne sub and he wants to use his integrated amp on it. Can this work? Tia

Kung pang music, I prefer speaker level inputs. Connect ka lang parallel sa main speakers. Then adjust settings sa sub. Then kada adjust ng volume sa integrated amp, damay na ang sub.

Pag pre-out variable ang volume, meaning the volume will be controlled by the integrated....

Tape out yung wala kang control ng volume...

1) If Velodyne SUB has high level input / speaker level input then this is possible. REL Subs are actually recommended to be connected this way.

2) Or you can get a speaker level to RCA converter from Markcrenz to use the LFE input if the SUB does not have High Level input. This converted has been tested to be workable.

Hi guys, any sub recommendation for music with a budget of 10-15k?

Will using the speaker input improve sq versus pre out?

in selecting subwoofer for music, it depends on what kind of music do you usually play.

if you want audiophile sweet sounding music, choose sealed sub (sound: tight and punchy) like wharfedale subs priced at 12k at listening room which is within your 10-15 budget.

if you want rock or other loud music, choose ported sub which can produce loud and deep bass.there is a polk audio sub within your price range.also within your range is pilyo sub with amp4v2 by marco pilyo priced at almost 12k.you can also try the sub of anthony audio which has the 10" or 12" woofer.

using speaker input or high level input results in double filter of the sound, first by the AVR then by the sub. hence, it should be cleaner. but the sound difference is only slight.

Hi sir zram, thanks for the inputs. Im leaning towards a sealed sub in that case since i listen to a lot of jazz and classical. I actually tested the wharfedale sub at listen up last weekend and i preferred the sound of thr sealed sub.

It blends well with the speaker without being boomy.

My speakers are a pair of dentons and they could use a little help when playing some rock and rnb.
