Humans is set in a parallel present where the latest must-have gadget for any busy family is a ‘Synth’ – a highly-developed robotic servant eerily similar to its live counterpart. In the hope of transforming the way they live, one strained suburban family purchases a refurbished synth only to discover that sharing life with a machine has far-reaching and chilling consequences.

The first two episodes are out. IMDB rating is very good so far. Has anyone watched it na?

The "Adult 18+" activation sequence is surely something that viewers are wondering about. I was thinking it would take several episodes more before it would happen.

Yeah, did not think it would come out as early as episode 4. Wonder if there'll be more of it in future episodes?

Hints of existentialism gloss over what could have been a more action-packed episode.

Not sure if I really want this series to be a cerebral one, considering the philosophical concepts of artificial intelligence have already been covered by Kubrick/Spielberg on film and Asimov on print.

Existentialism showed best in the conversation between Niska and Dr. Millican. I am fine with how cerebral this series is so far but I am afraid that they might simply go over and over with the same philosophical discussions resulting in a dragging series. I wish they'd develop the story more on how the "divergent" synths can potentially self-replicate or "infect" regular synths, much like a computer virus. They are just 17,000 pages of code apart after all.

Niska is getting too brash with a huge attitude (for an android)! It seems that their opposite demeanor will lead to an Anita vs Niska ending. I've read in IMDB that this is an adaptation of a Swedish series but I'm also not gonna watch that just to confirm this. One thing lang na I find hardly believable and I'm not nitpicking, having developed superior androids, why are their technology in cars, mobile phones and computers still primitive by standards unlike in Almost Human?

Just finished the series. There is a lot of potential, but I think the first season could've been deeper in scope from a philosophical perspective. The first few episodes hinted at that, but they had to resolve these early owing to the short UK season.
