Violent animal attacks upon humans are occurring all over the world. Jackson Oz, an American zoologist who offers safaris in Africa, begins to notice the animals' strange behavior and takes it upon himself to solve the reason why before these attacks become more coordinated and ferocious.

Saw the pilot, seems interesting.

Thanks for the heads up. Very engaging first episode. It has some things going for it. I just hope it goes somewhere. Mystery plots tend to drag. I am still traumatized by Lost.

Interesting premise, though medyo tinipid yung effects, such that much of the action happens off screen.  Hopefully, they are just doing this for now to heighten the mystery, but when the fact that animals are attacking humans has been fully established, it should be better to show more action (and some gore).

Before watching it, I already knew this had a propensity for cheap production. Attacking animals is not easy to act out by trained animals. That would entail lots of CG.

But I can forgive that. Just like sex scenes, such attacks need not be shown and can be implied.

What will carry the show will be the strength of the writing, directorial treatment and acting.

I wouldn't expect much gore, since this airs on network TV.

I liked it a lot more than the novel it's based on. It has the same basic premise, but is mostly different in execution, except for the Nairobi scenes.

The book sucked for me, as well as the explanation on why the animals were attacking. It's interesting how far they are going to expand the novel into a regular series, because once the solution for the animal problem is discovered, then it's goodbye, premise and hello, abdsurdity. (see: Under The Dome).

I get what you mean, but on the other hand, this is a show about animals attacking humans after all.  Think how The Walking Dead would be like if all the zombie attacks happened off screen.

But you're right, they would either need to heavily invest in trained animals and/or CGI, both of which cost lots of money.

2nd episode is up. My fear for this show is materializing quickly. It is presented like some 1980 tv show. I think this show is going nowhere.
