Anyone has experienced buying Nvidia Shield and, thereafter, encountered problems. How did you go about warranty issues granting you bought your box from CONUS?

I'm itching to purchase this right now

Well, considering if bought your Nvidia Shield from US and had it shipped through ShippingCart baka pwede ka nila assist if any issues arises with your Shield.
But you'll be paying shipping fees and other duties for the return..  Baka meron pang ibang ways na mas mura..

Kuha ka na.. sayang yung sale. :D

How do I return an item/s to the merchant?
Check the merchant's return policies and contact them directly to arrange either an exchange or a refund. Once settled, they will issue you a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) reference number and possibly a return label.

These actions along with specific return instructions coming from the merchant should be coordinated with Shipping Cart. Simply navigate to our Contact Us page, click the Contact Us button, and fill in the required fields. Please make sure to tick the "Other Concerns" option, and specify that you need to send your RMA form. A Customer Care representative will email you with further instructions.

Please note that as the buyer, you will be liable for any shipping fees, duty, tax and any other charges incurred during the shipment of items for return.

Yes. If you want to claim warranty. You need a CONUS return shipping address if they are sending the shield back to you.

They will honor warranty for buyers from non supported countries as long as you can give them a CONUS shipping address.  Maybe JAC or LBS shop can be used.

I have  bo tried arranging with online chat tech support if they can send the Shield back to the Philippines using DHL and you foot the bill for the return shipping.

Congrats.

FYI with the lastest firmware with google assistant you can actually set that up using the controller (not the remote) to be the microphone and you can use it as a hub for home automation.

pag walang remote mic.

C120 IR remote.

Get exactly that looks like this;

There is another version that looks almost the same but has a remaped home. back and context button.

Yup... I bought one and tried it. It's weird but cool talking to the TV to do stuff.

Now I wanna get some wifi switches and experiment with home automation. Skynet is here ha ha ha

so far naka trial ako for 30 days last DEC wala naman issue.
played lots of Batman titles, Street fighter, paragon. borderlands, just cause 2 and more.
on 50mbps connected to AP north server.
minsan i set the max bitrate to 5mbps to 10mbps and lower the resolution and kaya parin naman.
di ko na muna ni-renew yung subscription ko since walang masyadong bagong games.
I've read that they'll be adding fortnite soon..

This is one of the features I love about the Shield... During late night viewing and the wife is already asleep, you can plug your earphones into the controller and continue watching without disturbing her peaceful sleep ^-^

Yeah saw it this morning when I powered up. My trust in Nvidia is safe unlike other Android TV gadgets whose updates are sorely delayed most of the time whether it be TVs or even the Mi Box.

Yeah saw it this morning when I powered up. My trust in Nvidia is safe unlike other Android TV gadgets whose updates are sorely delayed most of the time whether it be TVs or even the Mi Box.

I updated mine this morning too.. I was surprised that the download file was only 19mb.
It restarted and updated..

After updating mine. I was greeted by a black screen with a exclamation point saying "Your device is corrupted. It can't be trusted and may not work properly"😪 I tried to factory reset via recovery and its a no go. I was able recover it using the recovery image 6.2 from nvidia via fastboot using usb A male to male cable.. I was abit hesitant to use a usb 2.0 cable since I saw alot of guides saying I need a USB 3.0. I gave it ago anyway, since I've been flashing different android boxes with this cable.
after successfully restoring my shield I tried to update it again to 6.3 and now it shows the size of the update is 1.2GB.
when it restarted. I got a different message again. But now its different. it says to unlock my bootloader.

went back to fast boot and re-locked the bootloader.
right now everything is back from what it was.  :)

Now i know that I can just use a USB 2.0 cable to recover my shield.
Because of what happened I'm now thinking of updating to pre rooted developer images for my shield.
Not really sure who's at fault here, but now i think its the OTA servers fault that game me a 19MB update instead of the 1.2GB update.
I still trust Nvidia, all the support documentation, recovery image and adb/fastboot drivers are readily available. I was able to revive my shield.  :)

It's because his shield was rooted.

I don't root (anymore) I tried it and didn't feel the need for it.

I actually love this things so much na-pa-praning ako baka masira siya. Will lookout for another unit at a good price.

Hindi rin rooted yung shield ko eh.  kaya nag tataka ako eh.  I just left it as it is..
I also love mine kaya ayaw ko siya i-root.
