Is it worth it to buy the 500gb vs the 16gb?

Is it worth it to buy the 500gb vs the 16gb?

Android 6 Marshmallow blurred the the reason in getting 500gb vs 16gb Shield  because of adoptive storage.

You can attach a 1TB usb 3.0 hard drive to the shield and it will make it into system storage.

So if you bought a 16gb shield. Youll have roughly 1016 GB of  system storage space. If you got the 500GB shield youll have a total of 1.5TB of system storage.

What specific playback issues you are worried about?

Thank you..I will just get a 16gb then :) I think Louie did a review and the rating that he gave is around 7.5 for playability..Not sure if it's still the case since the update to marshmallow..

if you are using  KODI. go settings. Video then library. Import movie information.

if you have the cover arts already. Instead Import use Export then. chose separate directories. It will put all the movie informations. Art, Nfo, actors the directory of the movie itself.

very nice gadget according to your posts...

been lurking with different media players and by the looks of it, this one has provided what I'll be needing and more... plus that "flawless" word used in the review had blown me to kingdom come.

now it's time to break the bank  >:D

Make sure hindi naka standard view. but expert or advance.

If you want to be seamless about it. .   Why not just add your videos, then use a movie scrapper?
usually if you have no local art or files with your individual movie directories or folder it will automatically download it sa internet.

Just do not panic if your cover art at movie is not at sync for a few minutes. It will usually show the previous movie cover art if kodi is still downloading the cover arts from the internet.

here is a quick rundown of the process.

http://www.htpcbeginner.com/add-media-sources-to-kodi/

Tapos pag satisfied ka na sa mga cover arts ng lahat ng movies mo do this.

http://arnaudbertrand.io/blog/2014/11/22/how-to-export-import-the-video-media-library-in-kodi/

Just ignore the part where you have to add videos since you already did it.

Kodi uses a single database or file for the movie arts etc etc. So if you want to back it up sa mga individual  movie folders do  the second link.

If i plug in this console to a non 4k TV, where do i find the setting saying that it can output 4k resolution? I was browsing over the different setting last night and I only found 1080p reso. My hdmi might also be not for 4k  use also

TVs have embedded EDID data that is passed to the source via hdmi that tells the source what the display is capable of. So if the EDID data says that the TV is only capable of 1080p the source will only allow up to 1080p resolution.

Nvidia Shield can passthrough Dolby ATmos with either SPMC or Kodi.

I have not read anything about DTS-X. Maybe no one with NSATV tried it.

Sir what are you using in playing automatically BDMV movies?
Yung you don't have to go through the internal folders(stream folder) and look for the actual movie.
Thanks :)

HiMedia H8, Q5, Q10 and Q10 pro are all capable of Atmos Bitstream ;)

The only player(that you can purchase brand new) that's capable of full navigation would be the Dune solo 4k.

Nice! Congrats in advance bro...
Actually kahit walang full BD menu happy na ako basta auto play na yung BDMV file without going through the stream folder ;D

Thanks for the info brader, downside nga lang nya is HDMI 1.4b palang. Hindi pa siya capable of 4K 60p (HDR) para future proof na :(

oo nga eh naglabas pa sila, di pa tinodo. Nabasa ko yung mga mainstream encodes daw matagal pa bago 60p ang ilabas kaya pwede pa raw ang solo 4k kahit yung a500

Is that a ebay Philippines seller? Or from a seller abroad and you are having it shipped to the Philippines?
